Nicola your a star .... what a fab climb, definitely a place on my bucket list to visit. Again a fab watch, a hard climb but you two always bring the humor along. 👌
... oops posted too soon!! I was in bits watching that! You are both such great narrators of your journey- open honest and relatable. Loving this series ! xxx
Nicola, you spoke a couple of times about needing to be strong, you have so much strength, so obvious in the challenges you take on. What a walk! By the way, you did OK too, Nigel!
Thanks so much Tony .. and for your kind support on kofi … very much appreciated … ha and Nigel is also pleased someone noticed he was on the hike too :)
This was an amazing achievement. It’s on my list for our visit to Norway. I’m not sure if it may be too much for me but Nicola is inspiring me to have a go 😬
That was amazing and terrifying at the same time. I had to remind my husband that we dreamed of walking the Andes when we were young - which we of course never did. I wonder why we didn't explore the domestic Norwegian mountains more instead. Presumably we were so used to running up to the nearest mountain top, which we did every summer - at the place we happened to be - that we did not consider it a goal to have in life. Now my legs tremble as much when I get up from the stool as Nicola's did when she climed Romsdalseggen, so that time is over for me.
It was indeed both amazing and terrifying .. and indeed some more ‘interesting’ hikes to do … I think we all get used to our local and it’s only when we travel do we attempt new things .. it’s why we like to travel in the van.. that said there’s a lot of positives in regards to getting to know a local area very well .. see the seasonal changes … the different wildlife … both have their place :)
Fun fact: The top sign before you started your ascent (3:20 mark) pointed to Coffee Pot Bothy.(Kaffikjelbua) Not so fun fact (but fact nonetheless) the abundance of small rocks is partly due to 10,000 years of rain, wind, ice erosion AND this being the last place where the ice age glacier melted and left its lightest stones. The ice age can also be seen by the roundness of the lower "peaks" an the U shaped valleys (they were not made by rivers). The ridge and really steep sides may well have been above the ice sheet during the end of the last ice age. WELL DONE!
1st one here today... watching your HOT road towards the HOT mountaintop. Extremely well done👍👍 So a Q; you were concerned about the cold.... ?? was the trip hotter or colder than expected, on the whole :) Did you snowbathe or at least make snowangels?
If I had been young and fit, I would have made the trip - but you would never have gotten me out on Kjeragbolten, the rock that is wedged between the cliffs further south. It is otherwise strange to see how trampled the forest floor is on the way down. There is no doubt that there is a queue to walk this hike.
Yes we considered that hike but not really doable with our plans … but to be honest Norway is so beautiful I think you could pick any hike … and it would be amazing .. that’s what we are finding :)
Give that woman a medal 🏅, well done both of you 🎉
Thanks so much … loved it and would highly recommend if ever in the area
In awe of you Nicola! My partner and I both said this was an amazing achievement!!
Thanks so much .. I’m getting more confident the more I do and I hear we have a few more challenging ones ahead of us :)
That looks amazing. It’s going on our list for next year. Fingers crossed we are as lucky with the weather as you were.
The days around it were mixed so we had to plan … fingers crossed .. it’s stunning :)
Anxiety is 90% mental, we always fear the worst. Brilliant again from Nicola, I would probably bottle it.
Slow and steady was our mantra … oh and cake :)
Well done Nicola! You’ll be sad to leave Norway I bet
Easily the best country we have ever visited

I took this hike 28th of July this year. We had a bit fog at the most scary parts, so happy about that. Been a goal for me, so happy I managed it ❤
It’s fantastic isn’t it … so glad we did it … well done yourself as well :)

We have been rather fortunate with the weather … planning around better weather days for hikes such as this one, keeping the wetter days for work :)
@@TheTravellersCookeBook Smart choice 😉👍👍
Fantastic 🙂👍
It was indeed wonderful

A few of the locals run over this ridge on their way home from work. Great effort!
Wow … now that’s one heck of a commute :)
@@TheTravellersCookeBook yes, they are super fit. Above the average league. But you should both be proud of yourselves.

Hehe, people have no idea how heavy it is to walk downhill when its over a longer period.
edit: And as you know now, the storm created a mayhem
Yes indeed … terrible to watch the impact the storm has had :(
? What was scary?
GO I believe and say its just a brick
Indeed and then a house
