I remember getting this on CD after it just came out, I was in 7th grade i think. Had never heard of grindcore before and it completely baffled me. I couldn't understand where one song stopped and started and why it was only 15 mins long, but I kept listening to it, and it slowly started to make sense. But I love the fuck out of this album still to this day, and have most of the lyrics memorized. Wish I still had that oringial CD though!
Someone needs to reissue this and Anticapital. I have been after an LP of them for years. Both sell for obscene money. Both are grind classics. Get 'em available!
I just recently bought the Discography CD, which features both albums, every EP, demo, split, and studio recording they've ever done. I only paid like $20 for it but well worth the money, especially since those standalone copies go for crazy amounts now.
@sloughcorpse I agree 💯 and couldn't have said it better myself. I've been listening to these guys for many years and as I just turned 40 this past September with all the bullshit going on in the world the message in the music couldn't be more relevant
A lot of DIY punk/grind bands have ethical reasons for being on corporate platforms like Spotify. Some don't care, but I think Assuck where very principled.

If we still just called it punk then we'd have no organisation in our genres. Punk can mean A LOT of things. Plus this does sounds very very much like death metal, it's not just grindcore.
@@dannyzuco666 Yeah Assuck are Death and Grind, their earlier releases sounding more like Grind and the later ones like this one sounding very much Death.
Best grindcore band and drummer of all time
yup
Period.

Absolutely love these lyrics in this album. Just pure hopelessness, nihilism and pain.

Glad I was around in day when both could be mail ordered for five bucks!! Got the green misery index aswell
imagine buying an album called anticapital for three digit price. Unfortunate.
@sorentrexler3688 Yeah, it's ironic. One of the most amusing examples is Bad Brains' Pay To Cum!
Pay To Cum! For £3000. Haha.

Well, y'know, reissues are trash, both in quality and impact on environment. 🤷♂
not just the best drummer but the best band of all time.
Back in 2002 I had a plan to have 15 tattoos based on each of these tracks
@Area52 No. I lost a lot of weight when I was younger and have a bunch of loose skin so I never got any tattoos unfortunately
You should anyways, fuck it
