The thing I liked most about this season was that they made the characters be themselves again and interact with each other like in the earlier seasons. The last two seasons we just had characters who looked like them, but acted completely out of character for the sake of a fresh dreamland/jungle adventure setting.
i just think the coma stuff lasted too long, by the third season of it it was like just wake him up at this point beacuse it already ended on a cliff hanger and then to not resolve it for a whole three seasons is just kinda wild

I just wish that in addition to the drug lords season, the private investigators season, the noir season, the WWII season, and the space season, they had done/would do a superhero season. Archer would make such an awesome parody of Batman.
I 100% agree. Archer always was about him being a lovable jerk. Sure, he's often self-centered and kind a dick, but he also frequently redeems himself, and show a more compassionate side, especially toward Lana. In Season 10, he's just an absolute arsehole all the way through with no redemption moment whatsoever, barring maybe when he saves the day in "Roadtrip" (S10E6), and even then it's not out of kindness. He's at his absolute worse. I hope it was just from this "coma" serie and that the writers do not intend to make this stick in the last season.

Honestly, the ideas with the coma seasons were fun, but the whole coma thing didn't have to take three seasons. 1 season covering all the different themes would have been enough.

Most of the reason Archer was funny to begin with was how he and the other characters made fun of real world things that we're familiar with. Having the show take place in a sci fi universe means the social and political comedy is extremely limited if not non existent. Making fun of planets, creatures, ships, etc. doesn't work because we don't know anything about them! Just giving an actual reason to why I thought this season was the worst...or more kindly put, "least funniest".

They should have mixed this season up with the wild west theme. Like cowboys vs. Aliens.

He woke up at the end of this season. It was a surprisingly emotional two-part episode, I highly recommend you check it out.
I didn't really like Dreamland or Danger Island either but 1999 was actually pretty good.
