Went to high school in Bossier City Louisiana back in the late sixties, early seventies. Only 2 names mattered back then. Pistol Pete played basketball for LSU and Terry Bradshaw Played football for Louisiana Tech . Those were the Glory Days !!!
A those old school athletes can compete today . The question is can these new players play against the old school players. I highly doubt it. These new school ball players Iike to shoot 3 's all day instead of coming to the hole. No class these day and ages.
The "ballers" are only that because of the "Pistol" Petes, who played for the love of it, not the glory. The guys in the background also make the stars.
you might already know this Lamont but in case you don’t: LSU’s basketball stadium is named after him - the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Everyone just calls it the P-MAC though. Side note: if you ever do another faces in death at Resthaven I’d love for you to show the grave of my Great Grandfather, Albert Brown. He was a WWII veteran. He died a good bit before I was born so I never got to meet him but from the stories I’ve heard about him he was a pretty awesome guy.
Not only did he influence my perceptions of basketball for the better, I remember him first and foremost that he turned to Christ and professed his Faith. His name is certainly written in the Lamb's Book of Life. Like Steve McQueen, their examples still lives one.
🙏THANK YOU-THANK YOU-THANK YOU, I’m A Big LSU fan & Im in New Mexico & people ask me why & it’s because of Pistol Pete & Chris Jackson . Thx again Brotha Man & stay safe out there 🙏
Pistol Pete is one of those players I wish I would’ve been able to have seen play, and you’re right if there’s people out there that haven’t seen his highlights they definitely need to go and watch them.
Thats probably why we lose so many young people for heart problems, they know most hospitals wont detect it or try to detect it if they c/o heart problems, or many other health issues that may come up. But hospitals expect to be paid back for the failed efforts. ..pure craziness!
Just found your video on Pete Maravich. He is a legend why was ahead of his time. He is the G.O.A.T.. thank you for the video. I agree with everything you said in this video.
My all time favorite player! Please younger generation, watch his highlights(both college & pro). Also take a minute to read these comments about him. January 5, 1988 my daughter was born. Hours later I found out my idol passed away. A day of very mixed emotions for me. RIP Pistol.
He died at age 40 in 1988 from heart disease while playing a pickup basketball game in Pasadena, California, what it said in Maravich’s autopsy was a complete shock, he had a rare heart defect, he was born with one coronary artery instead of the normal two, because of that, they said it was a miracle he lived past 20!!!
In my opinion Pistol Pete Maravich and Wilt Chamberlain were the kings of Basketball because they were just completely unstoppable. See Jordan was good but he made soo mistakes during his games and thats what stood out as the difference between the best players in the NBA. When you turn the ball over and take more than half of your teams shots your the goat because they only look at overall stats. Jordan turned the ball over soo much in his NBA career. It's a pathedic thought.
RIP Pistol Pete. Thanks for doing this video Lamont. Pete never got his due is for sure and most people now have forgotten about him.
My favorite all-time player.
RIP Pistol 💜💛💜💛💜
Thank you for paying your respects to The Pistol ❤️
Atlanta players were jealous of Pete and wouldn't pass him the ball. He still averaged 20 a game with the Hawks anyway..
My favorite bball player of all time. He invented most the handling moves you see today.
Don't forget, there was no 3 point line during his college era. If there was . . . :o)
Yeah his scoring woulda went through the roof for sure :)
As kids we used to idolize Pistol Pete, Doctor J, and Walt "Clyde" Frazier.
An then there was that guy on the bulls 🤣😂🤣
Those were the good old years in the nba back from 1950 to the 1990s it was the golden years
Lamont thank you for the highlight reel of Pistol Pete what a player. His hands were mind boggling!
Went to high school in Bossier City Louisiana back in the late sixties, early seventies. Only 2 names mattered back then. Pistol Pete played basketball for LSU and Terry Bradshaw Played football for Louisiana Tech . Those were the Glory Days !!!
No doubt Pete could compete today. NBA was more physical back in his day. No 3 point shot in those days. Very dominant player too. RIP Pete 🌹
A those old school athletes can compete today . The question is can these new players play against the old school players. I highly doubt it. These new school ball players Iike to shoot 3 's all day instead of coming to the hole. No class these day and ages.
