Thank you guys for acknowledging that it was a bit unfair to focus on negative details when in fact the overall picture shows Ohtani is doing much better than we could expect, considering he just started wearing a new uniform, all the changes in his routines, crazy scandal of him loosing 16M dollar and a trusted friend AND he is ACTUALLY REHABBING his elbow, which also stresses his other parts of the body still..
Mark DeRosas analysis yesterday (MLB) of Ohtani’s accomplishments so far and to also put it in the backdrop of a one year view continuously (as 25 days plays are too small sample) one can see how consistent he has been since beginning of 2023 till today. As if there never was a Major Surgery to his elbow this Off season which is still under rehab. He actually has the best season start ever!! 😅
Well, to be fair, we didn't acknowledge being unfair because we haven't been. We will occasionally talk about his struggles when he has them, because that's our jobs as Dodgers podcasters. We've been very fair to Ohtani (and even glowing and gushing at times).
It definitely feels so good for Ohtani having teammate he can count on
Ohtani is a slow starter and he is actually still going through rehabilitation for his pitching arm. Ohtani during off season always tries to improve himself and often changed his batting form. His new batting form helps to increase his batting average instead of aiming for more HR. Thus Ohtani's batting average now stands at the top of all MLB players as well as his 2B hits, total hits, total base hits, and helps his OPS going up to 2nd in MLB after Betts. His natural batting form increases betterment in contacts and tremendously reduced his batting strikeouts. However, as Shohei fan, I feel that Shohei is still adjusting his form and is only gradually heating up his energy. Yesterday Ohtani's HR seemed pushing to a batting form closed to be completed but when Ohtani reaches the best condition, many of his HR suppose to be falling more towards centre or left handed seatings instead of the right. So pls wait for a week or two for Ohtani to enter his best conditioning like last season, Ohtani hit 9HR in May and 15HR in June. Ohtani always hit well in May, June, and July when the weather got warmer. Hopefully, Ohtani can be far more productive than last season as he only concentrates on hitting and running. 😊 However, pls keep in mind that Shohei' arm is still under going reha pitching, his one arm is not total healthy. There's still some uncertainty for how many HR can he hit or would he be able to hit the same amount or more than last season. Let's hope for Ohtani to have a fully recovery and able to hit and run freely and in best conditioning healthy shape.

@@Iolo3 That's common expressions for long Shohei Ohtani fans. Ohtani refers to the hitter/DH and Shohei refers to the starting pitcher. Shohei Ohtani is famous within old Shohei Ohtani fans that he has TWO total different personalities appear during games since his Japanese Professional era (Shohei's JP Prof team Fighter's previous manager and the '23 WBC JP Team Manager, Mr. Kuriyama, told reporters several times that Shohei Ohtani as if has 2 different personalities when he serves as a pitcher Vs a hitter). Usually Ohtani is always in very happy mood while smiling all the time and joking lightly to everyone on the plate or in drugout. Yet at the day Shohei starts pitching, there's often a very serious and sharp cutting atmosphere like 🗡️ knife around him. Even Shohei's close Angels teammates were not dare to disturb him during those pitching days unless Shohei asked them for something. In '23WBC final, when Trout faced Shohei, Trout was seemed chilled by Shohei's sharp killing stares before Shohei struck out Trout to win the championship ring. And the interesting thing is even during Shohei's pitching days, once you could see light hearted Ohtani arrived the bases with wide smiling face and helped the pitcher Shohei gaining one or two runs before pitching started. Pitcher Shohei then dominated on the mound, the sharp killing aura of Shohei filled the air between the last hitter of Shohei's last inning while striking him out. Shohei roared before he left the mound(you never see the hitter Ohtani raises his voice to anyone at all except his loud laughters in clubhouse even when he disagreed with empire judgement.) To explain and express the different personalities and two different functional plays of Shohei Ohtani, I feel there's a need for swifting of names between Shohei and Ohtani.

Talking of stealing bases, Ohtani had been working on running and stealing bases a lot, other than increasing HR power during the off season. So far Shohei has 5SB but NO CB at all, this is a big improvement for Shohei bc he became slower in running bases in '23 and often got caught stolen bases in Angels era. Definitely Dodgers has far better coaching staffs and facilities than Angels. Shohei is obviously using those resources through roughly. That's why Shohei's base running sprint speed is largely improved. However, we just hope he can stay healthy while running all the bases. Shohei's running in extra bases has been helping Dodgers to earn many extra runs and eventually lead to more wins. It's a main factor how small baseball pulling a team to win games especially in playoffs.
Adversity will make you stronger Shohei. Keep going 💪
It’s hard for Ohtani to get RBIs when the bottom of the line up is just a series of automatic outs. Lux and Outman can’t be this bad all year.
Move Mookie back 2 2b and put Miggie Ro in at SS. Better D and he isn't the offensive drop off we thought going into the season
If Snell comes round the Giants have potential the best pitching in the NL. I worry about them the most
Good points at the 21 -22 minute mark. Ohtani has no IBBs so far. I think he led the AL in IBBs last year.
This is good for the team. Opponents do that intentionally of course. It’s something an individual can brag about but it’s an indictment on the team as a whole.

Brewers are best team in NL. they're not trading Adames! Maybe if they fold by deadline, OR, they get a win now haul in trade... but there's nothing dodgers have that will help Brewers win now. Lux and May maybe, with Ward or whatever?
Outman is getting hard contact. Alot of warning track and foul homeruns. Less K's too. He's also getting a LOT of pitches! 26 last game vs Mets! 0-4, yeah, but 26!
Outman is always having runners on, so hes getting top pitches, and lux has free range with Betts coming up

If Outman can overcome this last hurdle, and Lux improves marginally...... Huh huh huh.. sorry MLB!
