ua-cam.com/video/daPiO93QWcw/v-deo.htmlsi=fbGTTXnvJdRMhUmL My buddy Darryle with 2 gringos on the gulf found the link to the drone video of this which was really cool. I'm not sure if this comment will stay with a hyperlink or if it will be deleted
That ship was built to help construct Expo 67 in Montreal. It used to have a wooden facade to make it look like a pirate ship but someone set it on fire and left it like you see here. I drive past that eye sore all the time. It used to sit further out in the lagoon but it's now more parallel to the shoreline.
@@lawrencelewis2592 ah. I suppose it might not be so cool looking after a while. Certainly something like that doesn't exist on the roadside in northern Alberta where I live! Thanks for the information and watching. Stay tuned for more my friend.
I was told it was a Lower Saint Lawrence lumber carrier. There were many built. They would sit in the mud on their flat bottom in rivers along tidal waters, get loaded, then lift with the flood tide, and deliver the wood elsewhere. It as fire damaged when it arrived, and sat for many years as a local landmark.
@@georgerenton965 according the internet search I did afterwards and photos it was burned after it was there for a while. Either way it was interesting to see and certainly something you'd never see beside the highway in Alberta! I'm always watching for interesting stuff (and for moose to avoid running into)
That's what I heard, it would have looked great back then. There was also something about a fire apparently, that's too bad sometimes people make some poor choices.. I found the drone video of this same day I will try and share the link for that in the description tonight when I get home you might enjoy watching that as well. Stay tuned for more and thanks for watching and for your comment.
Too bad hey? Things go wrong sometimes. It sure was interesting to see though. Thanks for watching and for your comment. Stay tuned for further nonsense and entertainment my friend.
It is truly unbelievable how big they are. The ship was interesting and the write up about them with the links in the description were quite interesting.
I looked and looked for that channel and I never found anything that looked like it matched to me. I was really hoping to find some good drone footage of it With Me in the background I would be cool.
Can't even find this guys channel 😔

It's too bad they took the masts down. It used to look like a pirate ship complete with crows nest.

It was brought in as a floating restaurant, but I believe there was some issues about safety or something like that.

The owner got sick and died before everything could be finalized. Vandals set it on fire and now it sits there.
Built in 1913 as a coastal steamer.
