Really impressive to see a 7" FPV drone as it can carry 300+ grams on it and is really powerful! The powerful 1,800 mAh battery was massive and gave 7 minutes of flight time which was not bad at all! I think what will it do with an epic 5,000+ mAh Battery! The even better thing is that it can easily handle the mass of DJI Action 2, Insta360 one RS and GoPro 10 combined! It is exceptionally large, may it be its propellers, motors or body. It is expensive? Not at all. Such a huge and beautiful RTF FPV Drone costs less then 2,000 USD which is pretty affordable! {Those who think that it is costly should take a look at these prices of Cinematic/Inspection/Agricultural Camera Drones even though some of them are not in the consumer market, like the future DJI Inspire 3 (15,000+ USD), DJI Matrice M30T (10,000+ USD), DJI Agras (20,000+ USD) or the legendary Elios 2 (a whopping 40,000+ USD) and the 10 CM long, 18 Grams of mass of Black Hornet Nano UAV which flies at 18 kph and range is 2 KM (1,90,000+ USD)} Overall, iFlight Chimera 7 HD Pro definitely a really good Profesional FPV Drone for sure that flies very nicely!!! Recently discovered your channel and I really appreciate all your knowledge and interest in so many gadgets and tech! Question: I'm interested in getting into FPV droness as a new hobbiest and am wondering with a budget of $300, the TinyHawk 3 RTF kit is still the ideal product with a good controller for simulations?
Yes, for beginners, any of the RTF FPV kits are great. The reason I say that is because the FPV hobby is one of those hobbys where the learning curves are very steep. So getting a kit where everything works together means you are half way there. Next you have to learn how to fly without training wheels. If you have flown a GPS camera drone, those have training wheels. Flying FPV means plenty of crashing before you get good enough not to crash so whatever kit you get, there is a good chance you may destroy the drone in your attempt to learn how to fly, so always fly outdoors in an open field with plenty of soft grass. If you wish to learn more about the FPV hobby, just watch my video series entitled CAPTAIN DRONE FPV FOR BEGINNERS on UA-cam.
Nice drone. Owning a Mini 3 Pro this is super advanced but I dont understand the difference since Mini 3 Pro goes 3-4 miles. Only camera, weight, and battery life can be a large upgrade imo. Is speed only an issue if the pilot wants to simply go faster?
There are two drone hobbies. The hobby the mini 3 pro is in is called the beginner GPS Camera drone hobby. The other drone hobby is the Advanced FPV Drone hobby, like the drone in this video. It is not designed for beginners and takes about a month of training to fly one well. There is no range or speed limit in the FPV Drone hobby.
Definitely not cheap but seems like a great value since a person could start without going through a bunch of cheaper drones. Maybe a bit OP for true beginners but with a little restraint this would be awesome to start with and not have to accumulate a bunch of extra. I'd like to get it just to see how bad I can chew up the walls in my house!
I really love the look of it. Just think its way too big (in my opinion ) I was REALLY hoping to get out this weekend and start to get some shots on my drone. FPV Drones use triblades because the motors on FPV drones are the most powerful for their size. A tri-blade allows an FPV drone to corner and do flips and rolls very easily. Bi-blades are good for going straight. So if your plan is to flight straight at a relatively constant speed, then biblades would be more economical on battery power.

Many thanks for sharing.......🙂
The Rekon is less weight and more of a long range drone (probably more efficient than the Chimera 7). The Chimera 7 is just a beast that rams itself into every aspect of freestyle, race and long range.
Just noticed it's 7.5" props didn't even realize it. Oh wow. I'm running 8" on rekon7 a lil funkily. Damn might get the chimera 7 pro even though I have a 7" already haha Damn 1.6w analog or dji version. I do like being able to just record on board no camera. But the analog might have longer range
I am looking for a good long range drone just to do exploration around mountains and valleys and I have 2 questions: 1. This is said to be a long range drone, but in your flights, you got 7 minutes of flight time out of it, (which makes me wonder how far can you fly with only 7 minutes of battery power). Are there batteries big and powerful enough that would allow me to get at least 25 or 30 minutes of flight time? 2. How does the Chimera 7 Pro compare to the Rekon 7 Pro?
LONG RANGE drones are all over the market. Check out the ones from REKON FPV which are probably the kind you are looking for. The CHIMERA 7 is more of a powerhouse drone.
I enjoy your vids very much. I like the natural and non-pretentious style. Please stay away from the birds. The Geese were freaked out by the drone, they tried to get away from it, you were too close to them. Don't give the Karens or FAA any ammo on film. I have the GEPRC Croc 7 HD with Li-ION batts I made, I get 30 mins flight time.
Good to see the pilot is no longer having to operate in popsicle mode. Great looking drone and thank you for the demo. Willing to comment on which camera produced your favourite video?
If I'm filming straight forward, then I kinda like the DJI ACTION 2 camera, however it is not as damage proof as a GOPRO in a head on crash. If I'm filming going through scenic items then the Insta360 One RS is best since I can pick any shot in post editing.
Hey buddy, I've binged this video a few times already... Chimera7pro v2 is finally in the house, just waiting for the crappy weather to bounce. But man, I can't help but wonder about the drone's well-being with that hardcore landing @14:55. I'm head over heels for this bird, and the thouhgt of accidentally smacking it while tucking it back into its OG box.. 😅 Seeing it touch down kinda hurts my FPV soul. So here's the deal - any chance we can finesse a landing in Angle mode? You know, easy does it, smooth and slow. 'Cause I'm frequetly tearing up the skies in muddy or snowy mountain conditions, and I'm sweating bullets about sticking the landing in Acro mode. Hit me up with some advice, bro!
Ha ha… FPV drones are solid (carbon fiber) and you can smack them around as much as you like. If you are new at landing FPV drones, just fly with the camera facing forward vice at a 45 degree up. Makes landing super easy.
So here's the deal - I'm often tearing up the skies in some seriously muddy situations, and soon, I'll be taking on snowy terrain too. Now, I can maybe live with the whole rough landing scenario (my main worry is trashing the insides), but the real issue is I can't pull off a landing in mud or slush like that... :( Back in the DJI FPV days, I'd smoothly switch from M mode to N mode during the landing, gently touch down, snag it mid-air, and kill the motors on the second go. If I could pull off the same move with this drone, it'd be downright perfect. Any tips on making that happen? Cheers! @@CAPTAINDRONE798

A newer video was done in November 2021.
Now I need to start flying my XL7 frame 😎
Hi Captain, very nice video. Where did You get the side protection?
It comes with side protectors.... This is the new PRO model with upgraded features.
So what is better Crossfire or ELRS solution ? What type of antennas you can recommend to put on the goggles to increase the range ?
ELRS is the preferred only because it is open source so it is cheaper. However I think crossfire will be around for a very long time.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I just realize that both solutions are analog, and only for controller, but the distance to DJI Googles will be far more limited. Any chance to increase the distance between drone and goggles to fit these long solutions mentioned above ?
Good morning always great video nice review
And Happy Easter to you Captain!; now, where do we start ! well, the Drone sounds like an earlier Formula 1 car !!; the party piece I guess is its ability to carry those Cameras and provide a pretty "immersive" experience!; pricy? yes! however a tempting proposition for anyone looking to delve seriously into this style of Drone ! Many thanks for sharing.......🙂
Chimera 7 vs. Rekon 7 ... you flow both... what would be your choice for long range?
The Rekon is less weight and more of a long range drone (probably more efficient than the Chimera 7). The Chimera 7 is just a beast that rams itself into every aspect of freestyle, race and long range.
Ever sell off any of the fpv drones you review... that Chimera 7 pro is on my hit list... and I'm local!
Sorry, I only sell drones to the local RC hobbiests that I see daily
its so cool and exspensive id be scared to fly above water or anything like that
DO you think its worth upgrading? I have the regular version
If you love the one you have then probably not.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 it's great
Just last week though the esc smoked for no reason
Sounds really good great footage
Hi, what do you think of this one compared to the 7" croc you reviewed about a year ago?
This one is more refined
love it top flying friend i am in the uk
Rabbitfilms X Chimera7 Pro is the same? is 7.5 inch or 7 inch ??
Absolute beast
Just noticed it's 7.5" props didn't even realize it. Oh wow. I'm running 8" on rekon7 a lil funkily. Damn might get the chimera 7 pro even though I have a 7" already haha
Damn 1.6w analog or dji version. I do like being able to just record on board no camera. But the analog might have longer range
I am looking for a good long range drone just to do exploration around mountains and valleys and I have 2 questions:
You should upload a 360 video! We can use vr headsets to see it in vr!
Awesome review Capt 👍
Thank you
As big as a lobster. Thank you for your detailed review. 👍😃
Ha ha... kinda looks like that's what I'm holding
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thank you for the thoughtful answer. As I am rather crash prone, your insight makes my selection much easier.
great review
Great 7 inch Steve 👊🏻
Back in the DJI FPV days, I'd smoothly switch from M mode to N mode during the landing, gently touch down, snag it mid-air, and kill the motors on the second go. If I could pull off the same move with this drone, it'd be downright perfect. Any tips on making that happen?
Cheers! @@CAPTAINDRONE798
Closest thing i have is a 2000mah 6s. Lol geez that thing is huge!
Cool video.. amazing drone ..could make some great videos with the 360 on it too.
Have you ever used Apple tag on your Drone? With it you would find your drone when lost. 🇫🇮👍🇫🇮
Only works if you (or someone else with an iPhone) happen to walk within range of it when it is lost
14:59 "..so check this oot.." 🙂 🍁
I'm waiting for the 1S Version 😆
