      Thanks,
      It has been a fun ride. I just need to figure out how to expand my space...I would love to find a place I could move it to so I could spread it out and display all the stuff in the closets and various footlockers and bins...but the price of renting a facility is just insane in my neck of the woods as is moving to a new house. This has changed my direction in collecting as I try to buy only items I can put out on display (and that is now workng well haha).

    I’ve been looking forward to this room tour ever since you mentioned it was coming. It certainly did not disappoint. Wow, great job Steve! Your military items and displays are amazing! I really like the new Japanese addition. I’m looking forward to hearing more about it. I love watching your videos so Keep em Coming. 🇺🇸🪖🇺🇸🪖🇺🇸🪖

      Thanks HeartCityKid! The Japanese collection was an "out of the blue" purchase. I was informed by a friend of some items coming available out of a special collection and I had first choice. I made the funny remark of "I've always wanted a complete Japanese infantryman display." Well he called me a week later and had all of this available. I was shocked to say the least but knew I couldn't pass it up!

    Great video!! Totally an incredible collection. Didn't know you collected German items too. Loved the Russian tanker uniform. That BDM uniform got my attention. That was really nice. Good to see Max in your video. I'll be watching this one several times.

      Thanks Kenneth I’ve been enjoying all your content as well…you have quite the collection yourself. The BDM was such a lucky find and what is even more amazing is that the shirt and tie still have their RZM tags!

      @@keepemrolling2908 mine is a life time collection. Did you get the Russian uniform and BDM uniform off the older guy who had the large Russian collection?

      Sure did. He unfortunately became ill shortly after the last video and ended up passing away (what a loss of knowledge)!!! I just happened to strike a chord with his wife who said that he really liked me...so she allowed me shop some things from the collection (first dibs if you will). She knew the value but she gave me a really fair deal (still ouchy if you know what I mean) but I couldn't pass up this opportunity as I felt it was once in a lifetime. Some of my new U.S. stuff came from him as well. The rest went to auction...I guess such is life!?!

      Thanks...it has been a fun journey. I think what is really interesting is how you go from having a very modest collection thinking that you will never be able to grow it and BAM you now have a large collection of really fun items. There are times I walk through my room and have to say to myself...I can actually open these cases and touch this stuff as it is in my care...wow! I also like to stress how you can build a nice collection over time without spending huge amounts of cash. Yeah, I do have more money to spend nowdays but most of my collection was acquired on a very modest budget which shows that no matter your income level...if you take your time you will develop a fantastic "museum."

I always think it is going to go quickly and...well let's just say that having to relocate items to get a better shot took a long time...and even a longer time to put the room back together when I was done...in fact, I have all ready changed my World War I exhibit!

    awesome display! even though its a bit tight it still looks very museum like.
    for hat/helmet display stands i like to pick up those wooden paper towel holders whenever i see them. also i will get the oddball/mismatched sturdy candlestick holders from goodwill.
    how do you go about reblocking a hat?

    • @keepemrolling2908
      @keepemrolling2908  10 місяців тому +1

      I never thought about the paper towel holders...what a great idea! For my one hat, I purchased a "hat streatcher" on line. I then carefully "steamed" the hat over a pot of boiling water being carful to not get the hat "wet" if that makes sense (basically the steam relaxes the material). I then slipped in the hat streatcher and tightened it and then kept tightening it (which expands it) over the next few days...little by little. I had to steam the hat a few more times while doing this and eventually it formed back into the correct round shape vs. the mess it had been before. Sometimes you can use the streatcher without steam if the shape is not to out of whack. The big thing is to take it slow and easy and to not rush! I would also practice on something that you don't care about before trying it out on your best hat if you know what I mean (haha).
