I totally disagree... It's not a masterpiece, maybe you could consider it an addition to the Romantic virtuoso repertoire at the same level as Monasterio's Violin Concerto or Saint-Saens's 2nd Violin Concerto. Brahms's plays in a clearly better league. That's the truth
I agree. He above saying no is wrong. This could very easily be a lesser popular second violin concerto by Brahms much how we don’t often hear the second piano concerto of Tchaikovsky etc. it’s very Brahms like. I absolutely agree with you.
