She told him it didn't have a running motor and had been sitting for quite awhile. He didn't care. He offered quite a lot of money for it. She took it . The guy took it away. He drove in the driveway 1nday about a year later and the camper looked brand new. Inside and out. He did a fantastic job on it. Turned out he was a high school teacher and had the shop class redo it for there senior project. It was beautiful. They rebuilt the engine and went through the entire bus. Dan who films shenanigans, just procured an '84 blue Wolfsburg from me. It also came with a snap in rear hatch screen. Mine was repainted (by a previous owner) a slightly different blue metallic. Had factory air that was way more sensibly installed in the ceiling than later year transporters.
Could you convince Dan to make a video series about the restoration of his van?
I don’t believe that’s planned- the bus is almost done and back on the road.

Hello!
Now throw the wasserpooper in the trash and put in a reliable motor
I’ve got hundreds of thousands of miles in wbxers across countless vanagons- it’s quite a good engine.
Don’t get me wrong, I have conversions in two of my busses- but no conversion will EVER be as reliable as a WBXer. (In terms of engineered, standardized miles served on the platform).
They’re fine engines, just old and a little under powered.

I think that you have the wrong antifreeze. Yours is green mine took European blue................
Modern green antifreeze is phosphate free and works great in these old busses. We use Peak, but just about any green antifreeze is great so long as you flush out the old stuff.
Keep in mind, you’re seeing what we came across after sitting in a field for ten years, we didn’t change any antifreeze, yet, but have since filled it with quality Green stuff from Peak.
