Chinese 🇨🇳 property sector, which accounts for 30% of GDP, is crashing.
- Exports and imports, accounting for 37% GDP, are down.
- Foreign investment (FDI) is falling over 90%, lowest in 3 decades.
- Foreign visitors are down 96% compared to the pre-pandemic level in 2019.
- Consumer prices are experiencing deflation.
- Youth unemployment hits over 21%, a record.
- Its fast-shrinking workforce is 10 years older than neighboring countries.
*Still, China keeps reporting outrageous GDP numbers.* Lol

They can achieve 15%,GDP growth this year if they put their mind into it. In fact they can achieve any target.
They have ~150-200% overbuild. Possibly housing for 2billion people is lying vacant. Housing is sold to chinese investor funds at 1000% of its intrinsic value, is it any wonder why the housing prices then fall to its intrinsic value? Though ordinary chinese citizens are then on the hook for the debt anyway.
Yup.. China reported outrageous growth reports for over 2 decades... to the point that we are worried of China's overcapacity. Outrageous indeed.
The central government sets GDP targets. The local governments will in turn do everything in their power to reach these targets mostly using debt.
Chinese GDP will be whatever the target is with little unpredictability. If the government thinks debt is too much, they will set lower targets and the local governments will act accordingly.

Time to get interested in observing and selectively buying shares in property companies. Be a contrarian. Plans need time to implement. But once confidence and the need by countries to re-stock their shelves returns, this will be a booster for property stocks.
