And thank you for your beautiful workbooks on ETSY! I have $60 worth in my cart, just waiting for my readers so I can place test my 5th grader 💗 your site has truly been an answer to a prayer!
@@samanthagraveswalters8443 I just uploaded a video on math. It shows how I will be using Rays this year. For Phonics Made Plain, I just go through the flash cards. It comes with a chart. I try to move through the cards in the order they are in the chart. I give example words and have the kids use wooden letters to spell those words. A lesson should be 5min or less.
You can look up a 70 phonograms chart. Phonics Made Plain is a simpler, much cheaper phonics curriculum with a wall chart, if you just want phonics. I’ve also heard great things about the Robinson Curriculum Phonics. You can get flash cards and charts from LandOfKakiak on Etsy. I hope this help. 🤗
@@Homeschooling_with_the_Riveras Yes you’ve been most helpful. The ELA search has been a long rabbit hole for me until I’ve now realized that I was classically trained in the public school system in the late 80s. Phonics is so important and I cannot imagine teaching it any other way. I have a 5 year old and a 5th grader. (The 5th grader is a strong reader but I do believe he was taught with the whole language approach) I want to review all 70 as a family before I formally begin teaching her, and it will only help him as he continues his education at home. I’m new to homeschooling but I attended a satellite school in jr and high school. (Almost unheard of in the 90s) lol I graduated with honors and went to college! All of my public school friends did not. So I’m confident just want to get the right curriculum for “us”
Thank you for the mention!
