Thanks for a great tutorial for a beautiful model. We live on a narrowboat and see plenty of swifts and swallows. My partner has been stressed out trying to fit out our new bathroom plumbing, so I made her one of these as a cheer up present and she loves it!
I would say it would be easier to follow if you'd used one sided paper. But like someone further down said, start with your coloured side up.
For anyone who's finding this too hard, remember:
using bigger paper, like 21cm x 21cm will make it less fiddly,
you can change the playback speed to 0.75 or even 0.5, and watch each step fully before even trying it, pause, rewind the video slightly then watch again while trying.
If you really can't get it then try some easier models and come back to it in a few months time.
You will get better at it. Promise!

A tip for the "squid" phase; if the narrow spot at the top won't fold properly, you can use a pencil or pen tip to fix it from the inside. 3:40
Really great model and tutorial! Thank you!! If anyone's wondering, you start colored side up. I actually made mine a little smaller with 9cm (3.5") paper. It mostly worked out--my tail and wing tips aren't as crisp as they could be--but you end up with a cute little swallow then. ☺
It took me an hour and a half but I did it!! Thanks for the tutorial!
