I remember one day I was baked on some good smoke at friends house. I was sitting in the living room in a recliner & the song Ride The Lightning came on. I was always a huge Metallica fan back in them days, anyways, as I sat there baked I listened to this song & most importantly I was all Alone! All the other fux/wanna be guitarist were in the other room. I sat & kept rewinding the tape like literally 3 to 5 times & listened to that song. At that point in time I had only played about a yr & half, maybe 2..? Anyways, I decided on that stoned night I was not only gonna learn that song (minus the solos) but I was gonna own it! So that's what I secretly did for a few months or so. I fuck'n devoted my life to learning Ride The Fuck'n Lightning! And I mean just like this.. one day we had a good 20 plus party happening & this dude was playing some bullshit Poison cover, couple girls were digging it. After a short while had passed I became Mr Brave & grabbed my axe! Was time to shut this poor mother fucker up. I had a Crate 135C stereo chorus duel 12" cabinet. At the time this bastard was the shit. Had rolling wheels with a couple of 12's man! Wasn't carpeted though, oh well.. I plugged my shit in & politely cranked the volume up around the halfway mark, the volume line on the adjustable knob was at about an even 5 ish!! I started whaling Ride The Lightning & completely buried that mother fucker! Couldn't hear no more Poison & most importantly for the 1st time ever.. incidentally, I assumed the leading roll. I became the fuck'n commander! Didn't mean to/try to but it happened! All because at one point in time I couldn't play a certain riff..!!! True God damn story too! No bullshit'n
