Really enjoyed your morning show. Perfect opening for my Saturday.1990s Microsoft publisher? LOL. I miss browsing those style of layouts in bookstores back in 2000s. Watching this in my jam jams now too. Oh and thanks for telling us how to pronounce NEZ. I've been saying the Z too myself.
I am late to this video and your channel, randomly stopping by in 2022. Great video from the snoopy mug to the well behaved cat to the books. I have the Cult Perfumes book too, and it is so lush to look at, love it! New sub
Two of my favourites are Lizzie Ostram's and Barbara Herman's books. Glad to hear your thoughts on a few of the others I have been curious about, namely Roja Dove's, Claire Bingham's and Phillipe Claudel's and will happily add them to my wish list💜
Galen says "tactiley," and as a nurse I'm immediately thinking TIA. I believe the word you're looking for is 'kinesthetic.' after that very short-lived worry, I couldn't help but think: pajamas? I don't even own a pair of pajamas, so likely a very good thing it was not me on your monitors, donning a ratty t-shirt, plaid boxers, and very pasty-white gams. nicely done, Sir Galen! did I mention that I quite like the musical selection as well?
Umm, Alan, they’re called Jam Jams. Please use the correct terminology! 🤓 I’m going to try using Kinesthetic as much as possible at work tomorrow. Maybe I’ll go to our Physical Medicine clinic and chat to some docs, see if they see thru the BS? We still haven’t talked records. We’ll need to change that sometime soon.
Thank you for your review! And you're right, there is lots of work, care and love in the making of Nez. Regarding prices, you're right. It may seem expensive but our distribution is very small, we are only available in some perfume shops in the US and on our US website. So we had to determine a price that would make it simply... possible for us to reach an international audience. And.. bravo for the pronunciation! Even I, sometimes, have to say "Naizzz", just to be understood :). Dominique. One of the people behind Nez.
As I've heard your closing question about what we can recommend as a perfume read, I can't help but promoting our last book: The Big Book of Perfume, that has just arrived in the US. I don't know if I can do my own advertisement here. You tell me :). So, if I may, the link is: www.nez-editions.us/products/the-big-book-of-perfume
Whoa, thanks, Dominique! And yes, I’m cool with the advertisement. In fact, it appears the English version of the Big Book of Perfume has just reached my shores, so that will be added to the collection here this week!
I have two books from Ellena, Perfume - The Alchemy of scent and the diary of a nose. i have read the first one a year or two ago and liked it. Pretty good introduction about perfume making from the master himself. It is a bit chemical though.
Great video. I am looking for a book about what ingredients smell like in fragrances. Why they are used. Any books like that? It would be fun to see what different typed of each ingredient smell like. For example the difference between the different types of roses or Ouds and what they smell like. Let me know of the best book for I am looking for. Thanks
I’m not sure something like this exists, at least all within a single book. If you find something, please let me know. Sorry I couldn’t be of assistance.
I’ll need to get cracking on that! I’ve only worn it a few times, but the weather is just now getting to be perfect to spend some quality time with it. Thanks!
Hey there. I think Perfumes the A-Z guide 2008 by Luca Turin is an excellent resource, but all the learning are not explicitly laid out. I just order the Big Book of Perfume from Nez Magazine, which may very well be the perfect introduction to perfume. But I don’t have it yet! Let me know if you find something interesting that aids you in your journey. Thanks!
The LP shown is Andre Previn’s My Fair Lady-that yellow label was a nice color contrast. The song playing is called “I fly with you” by Franz Gordon-I license all my music from Epidemic Sound, as I don’t want any copyright strikes. It’s a nice little groove, reminds me of Vince Guaraldi.
I know...tragic. And I have the gall to call myself a coffee lover! Just got a gooseneck kettle to replace the old one...Perhaps that and a new grinder will be prominently featured in the follow up?
How many times do I use the word Stunning?
I lost count after 15...🤓
As a librarian, I approve this message.
Music, coffee, books...I love this.

Nez magazines are so full of amazing info and articles
Indeed they are!
Coffee? Books? Smelly stuff in bottles? Ah, perfect day off.
Nice change of pace Galen. I've had that Luca Turin book in my Amazon cart for ever I gotta pull the trigger on that
I don’t think you’ll regret it. I pull those off the shelf at least once a week. Thanks!

When I read those, something about them just didn’t click. Both are so brief it would be nice to revisit them again. Thanks, Tom.
and not one mention of what any of these books smell like... i feel robbed!!
I missed the opportunity to talk about the scratch n sniff cards that come with Nez! Dang!
Man you have the best cat, it enjoys the weekend more than you.
I know a perfume that smells like a book
No way
Rich Mitch, you never cease to blow my mind.

eF! I hit the wrong button and my post got wiped...and I'm too pissed to retype it at this moment. LOL!
Well, you get a ❤️ for effort!

I like your books; I like your hair; I like your cat; I like your channel. Subscribed. 👍
Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life.
This is why I don't fight with librarians..
When is the review coming out for the NEZ second edition fragrance? :)
I’ll need to get cracking on that! I’ve only worn it a few times, but the weather is just now getting to be perfect to spend some quality time with it. Thanks!
What is the first book that you suggest to buy for someone who is new in this world? Something on notes? Something on known fragrances?

Has tour car been on the channel prior to this?
And the album playing is...?

What? No burr grinder?
I know...tragic. And I have the gall to call myself a coffee lover! Just got a gooseneck kettle to replace the old one...Perhaps that and a new grinder will be prominently featured in the follow up?
List them please .. in text
Done-thanks for pointing out my failure to do this in the first place! 😇
