I have just subscribed to your channel and it blesses my heart to see the compassion and care that these mother cows and calves are getting. Cows are my favourite animal. 🐄🐂
Oh my….that was, uhm….instructive! Amazing that cows can withstand that yanking and the C section standing up. Tell her my knees were buckling in sympathy!
This video was so interesting. So informative about the different layers of muscle, etc. What a blessing to have a live calf and a live cow at the end of the day.
Yes. Too bad it cut off and we got to see the vet stitch up the uterus after the fact. Would have been interesting to see how the calf was birthed that way.
Really enjoyed the video as always as for the cow who’s kicking at her baby, I to have a 1st time heifer who did not “swell” or “bag” before calving. Had calf on her own but refuses to let it eat unless restrained in squeeze chute and even then calf is still hungry:/ Decided today to kick cow out with slaughter cattle and let my 6 year old raise the calf for 4h .hope you have better luck! 1/2 way through calving season!!lol.
@@TwinElmFarms Thank You for the info. I grew up on the farm in the 60's and 70's. As far as I can remember, we never had to do a c-section on any of our cattle. We had around 30 Holstein Dairy cows on the main farm, and around 50 Black Angus cattle on our other farm. I helped pull a Holstein calf one time, and do not remember having to ever pull any others.

Thank you. I appreciate it.
@@TwinElmFarms God bless you and your family. Sending love from Ireland ❤️
We're so lucky to have rural vets. Some places it's hard to find one, let alone a farm call.
Theres no one within hours of us 😪

Great to have good help you trust and can depend on. Hope that cow bonds soon. Thanks for the video.

I always like watching the other animals watching when one is trying to birth. There's a calf back there watching.
Wow that was pretty intense, glad mom and baby are fine great video I enjoyed it
Congratulations 🎉🙏🙏 for the mom and it's baby
I am amazed you could do a C-section on a cow and they live and so did the calf. Truly an amazing procedure. Wow, vets not paid enough.
I think it's crazy the cow stands and doesn't move.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing

Nice video
A vet that makes unscheduled house calls, thats a miracle. Keep video evidence of this miracle. Ate you related? 😊😊😊😊
No we are not related to any of the vets that come here. We are lucky to have such a great vet clinic near by.
You got lucky I've been down that road with a little less success
Yes, I felt lucky.
Omg
Great job by all. Will that cow be able to be bred again, and have a calf, or will it become hamburger and steaks?
She should be able to get bred again. Our first c- section cow has had 3 calves since.

Do you use oxytocin?
I believe we had used it once. Not something we have on stock.
I'll stick with the Holsteins they are little less rambunctious lol.
Lol oh Jacco,
How much does a cesarean cost?
I believe they are 600
Maybe it was early ?
She could have been early, but she had started the calving process just not properly.
Omg yikes !
You might need to do an emergency surgery
When you normally do surgery you might need to next time put mamma cow to sleep put her on a drug antibiotic
I leave the surgery up to the vet, they know best. Hopefully i never need to do one.
You call the doctor Jessica, and tell him how to do his job:) Maybe transport the cow to a nice hospital too?
You are very cruel to animals. Shame on you
And Vet degree is from ?
Saved the cow & calf and got the cow out of pain.
Cruel for saving both of their lives??? Really??
