@@Goferek5 It would be a pretty good way to intro a new legendary or something, gives a bit more reason why we've not heard of it before, or just as a dark joke where they create this creature for 5 seconds and then deletes it from reality like thanos snapping

@@RebelTrooperHoth Yeah... having watched the rest of the video, I can see that now. Still, the image of Laventon dumping a sack of pokeballs on this kid is funny to me
My favourite part of the stream was Dan getting to the Snorlax when he was severely underleveled because for two seconds, the collective hive mind that is chat came together to scream the words "RUN". All I could see was "RUN", "RT RUN" "DAN, YOU NEED TO RUN" and the singular guy yelling "DAN HE'S ABOUT TO USE HIS Z MOVE YOU NEED TO HAUL ASS".
I'm not even kidding when I tried fighting that Snorlax with a level 35 or so Infernape and a team roughly around the same level. I like the idea that you are naturally better at catching pokemon then anyone else simply because you have basic training from more modern times. Like yeah. Catching those pokemon is simply enough. And then everyone around is like "wtf! How did you do that like it was nothing?"
It seems like a lot of it comes down to your character just not being afraid of them like everyone else is, which would go back to that modern training. @@warpedmine9682 What are you talking about? That game has been out for an anachronism! It's just a shame you can only play it on the Nintendo Null (which was only released in Void, sold for NaN (that's NaN converted to dollars, NaN in Euros)
Fun fact (and kinda impressed by the level of detail about this one): Arezu's name comes from the god that associates itself with Mars, Ares, hence why her descendent's name is Mars
That's so cool! I'm wondering if there's a similar story behind Coin's name, being Saturn's ancestor. I did some digging and found something called Saturna Coin, which is apparently a form of cryptocurrency (I know absolutely nothing about that though, and prefer to keep it that way) but I'm not sure if that's right. It also wouldn't be quite as poetic as Arezu's name. It would be interesting to see if her name has anything to do with the actual planet or mythology.
HOLY SHIT, I’m only 9 minutes into and this game actually has conflict, like, characters who aren’t just Infinitely nice and helpful. This makes me hopeful
honesty, this is literally the only pokemon game where I wasn't horribly annoyed by the characters 99% of the time. they actually made good characters for this game
Every so often I'll look away from the screen and hear you read a line of dialogue and be like "haha RT is comedic genius" and then realise it's an ACTUAL LINE "I guess we won't need to leave you to die" is the latest one
I'm still thinking about it because it doesn't make sense, why would a wild Pokemon that doesn't want to get caught voluntarily shrink itself to get in a trainer's Pokeball?
@@JoNarDLoLz So? If you know where to look, you can find people who expect Game Freak to make a game that encompasses every previous region. Any day now, surely.
compared to game freaks recent entries this is something thats better than a nostalgic remaster, or yk sword and shield. this actually looks fun and interesting and explores a concept many pokemon fans have wanted to see for ages
Less than 5 minutes into the game and a child is already on a holy mission to hunt down and capture all living creatures on the planet Pokemon is a pretty wild franchise
I mean if god came to me today, assembled my PC that's currently sitting in several pieces, and told me to go cram several hundred animals and a few plants inside some balls, I'd have to do it would I not?
I did too and he has carried me through some fights, especially when he evolved into samarott. Something about a refined fighter going into a Dark type ruthless one is so enticing. The moves are just icing on the cake
Yea like no offense. He can play however he wants to but he really overlevelled himself catching those high level pokemon at the start. As expected of Dan the villain kekw.
this is fair but as someone also playing the game.... overleveling matters way way less in this one. like i wont say the game is Hard per say but its definitely more difficult then a standred pokemon game.
@@nullpoint3346 I think that freshens up the challenge. The game pretty much says 'screw you' if you don't have type effectiveness, even against the wild pokemon. Especially if you stumble across an Alpha you're not prepared for. It is entirely possible to be wiped by just a basic field pokemon if you're not prepared especially if they have speed advantage.
Ayo i'm addicted to this. This is almost everything I want in a pokemon game. Hopefully gamefreak does this going forward: a faithful remake (with more innovations than what BDSP had) and a prequel legends spinoff for each gen. Seems like a profitable yet fun approach.
I think this was the best game since HGSS because everything about it slaps. I can't say I liked outbreaks, but hey they've been a thing since Generation II.
-dodge rolls (if you don't mind me being that guy that says "dodge roll therefore dark souls") edit: and I forgot that RT mentions that one directly lol
I like how everyone went in with the expectation of playing as someone from this time period then seconds later find out it's actually one of the protagonists from diamond and pearl 5 years older now sent back in time (Also at least for the female trainer they've canonically been to Alola since they're wearing a shirt with palm trees with a luxury ball in the middle meaning they got it from a place of luxury and that they were either there or simply in their room relaxing when they suddenly met God)
The Diamond and Pearl protagonists weren't ten years old. In fact none of the games protagonists have that age. That's a misconception from the anime. From the look of them when they're not chibified the DP protagonists looked like they were arleady 14-15 during Diamond and Pearl.
It's great innit. I mean I don't think we've really ever seen a game where they just address the fire dragon in the room that is how fuckin lethal these Pokemon are lol.
Absolutely love the fact that they're literally like "lol prove yourself or you will die. Pokemon WILL kill you." And then like,,,,,,,, actually pull through and put the fear of pokemon in you because the fuckers WILL hunt you down and WILL fuck you up. Like yeah sure we have plot armor and can thus not permanently "die" but by god is everyone in this game aware that pokemon *can* and *will* murder you, and are thus properly fucking terrified of these wild feral animals that will throw giant rocks at your head or set you on fire if you look at them wrong
I think the closes we've ever gotten to this prior was in black and white where Kyurem tried killing you with ice blades, but that was a false threat. Here however? They can, and at least later on, WILL absolutely end your life.
Love how no matter how many playthroughs I watch, no one is shocked that Laventon says he saw us fall from the rift in the sky. Like, so he saw us somehow drop from that rift in the mountain, and slingshot to the beach?? Damn good eyesight, but also, ARCEUS SLING SHOT US FROM THE RIFT.
It's honestly incredible. I was at the stream yesterday and wasn't expecting to even see the vod go up on the archive channel for a few days at least, much less the full-on highlights vid. I was stunned when I opened my feed today and saw the highlights already up
Lore-wise, it does make sense that trainers in Hisui aren’t as powerful as some of the wild ones like Alphas and Nobles. It lines up with how fearful most people in Jubilife are of pokemon.
I love how RT did what everyone did when getting this game. Getting so sidetracked by the geography and the exploration that he hugely overleveled for the early areas :D
Regardless on what people have been saying online coming up to the release of Legends: Arceus, I’m absolutely loving this game and can’t wait to see more from this game and what the future of Pokemon holds!
@@machine_envy I would say go for it. I’ve been playing it for 2 hours and it’s already one of my favourite switch games. It is a bit buggy but honestly that makes it feel more fun. It looks beautiful and for once the dialogue is actually interesting. Plus it’s just fun.

I was genuinely skeptical about how good this game would turn out. I'm genuinely and pleasantly surprised at how much better this turned out than I thought it would. Gives me the nostalgic vibe of how the Pokemon were once mysterious creatures to us as kids and are giving us that feeling again.
I already love how this is the one game in the series to just flat-out say “Yeah, you’re 15, no debate”, but the fact that this is also the game where RT decided to name his character “Granddad” is just the icing on the cake.
This is one of the coolest Pokémon games I’ve seen in a while. It still has the Pokémon Sword/Sheild vibe with the characters, but the fact that Nintendo changed so much gameplay yet kept it the same, is astoundingly good.
because it's not gamephreak (pokemon mainlien is made by them, not by nintendo) It's simply, asssoon ANY other studio made a side game , you can see how much better it is. They've done great works on the first few generations , but after that they slacked off and became pretentious clowns.
@@ballom29 what the fuck are you talking about lol, this game is straight up made by GameFreak, not another company Like yeah GameFreak has had its lows but yall so focused on feeding your hate boner that you activelly lying about them not developping the game? Just cope lmao

Pokemon Legends Zygarde should definitely happen tbh. Especially since we barely even see Zygarde do anything. Secret postgame boss in XY, and a collectathon in the Alola games. Order snek deserves better.
at first i was like wow it only took him 40 minutes to get to the place that it took me 6 hours to get to but then i remembered that rt is a streamer and this isnt live
This game has the perfect amount of Monster Hunter to it for me. I adore how there's regions in every map you dont get to see when just following the story and even sidequests, like the ore tunnel. Now, if Gamefreak had some actually graphics devs...
The last few Pokemon games have had some really interesting mechanics that almost feel like they're gearing up for an official MMO. And if it's more like Legends, I may be 100% in on it. Also, Dan has sent me with this playthrough already - though I'm gonna catch up on it slowly as I play through myself. Good luck, Granddad!
seeing cyndaquil's fire place, i am very glad i grabbed him. the other two get a good sized tree and fish tank and he gets this smalll peice of garbage.
Ironically I looked at Oshawott's tank and went "dear god as a reptile parent that is far too tiny for you, I probably just saved your life my man" because I feel Cyndaquil and Rowlet probably have the ability to roam the whole room but Oshawott kinda just...is in a really tall tank. No enrichment or wandering just water. Like dude. Pardon me while I file a complaint for the mistreatment of Oshawott
I've been dealing with rough shit these days, but your videos never seem to leave me without a smile and warm heart. Thank you so much Daniel. I really love your wholesome content.
I'm really glad they went back to one of the already established regions for this game instead of creating another land mass/country and it feels so right for them to use Sinnoh seeing as that generation first introduced actual lore into the games.
Thank you to RT’s editors for putting this out so quickly because I couldn’t see his stream yesterday due to me not having the game yet. Game shipped earlier and I’ve been playing all day so I can now be “spoiler free“
Fighting Kleavor felt like a fuckin dark souls meme. Just throw balms at him, roll out of the way, roll back into position, throw more balms, fight him once he's weak...
I really appreciate you going through the game at the pace you are. It's really enjoyable for me, someone who really wanted to like this game but finds it a little overwhelming to actually play, myself. Thanks, RT!
The game: Has integral death mechanics that cost you resources that can be later regained and are tied to an online component, pulls the franchise in a more action-oriented direction, has a mandatory dodge-roll... Daniel: Shame on yous for mentioning Dark Souls!
I'm having so much fun playing this and can't wait to stream more of it tomorrow on Twitch. We're gonna do a full playthrough over the next while there - this video has all the highlights of the playthrough so far!
