+MR. REE he’s a winch master! I learned some crazy winching skills watching him. The trick is to know when to use it and to use it quickly. Thanks for watching
It was the most competitive comp event I've been to. My c2 truck which I thought it ran great could not hold a candle against these guys. 😩 Hyrax's definitely dominated the event.
After testing the Traxxas Canyon Trail A.T. tires on my Sport, I gave my son a set of Hyrax tires, because I love the S1 compound tires!! Maybe it has to do with the fact that the Sort is a little heavier than my Deuce.
you always have the better videos. ....you should do a vid explaining classes and how courses and scoring work for people thinking of getting into trail trucks and crawling. no one really has a good demo vid outlining everything.
Thank you so much! It’s always been in my mind to make a good rules and tips video. I am just not good with being in video myself but one day I’ll jump in haha. Thank you for the suggestion
Is that Farmington? If so the courgars lair or whatever that place is called is awesome haha. I did some wheeling thier with John. Saw him in your video. Fun spot and that water makes it tough too with that sandstone
Just wanted to thank you for your continued support of this hobby, love your videos. I'm up in Maine and we dont have much of anything for comp it's sad really.
Thanks for the comment. I just googled Maine and it returned a ton of beautiful rocky coastline and mountain spots. I bet you have cool places around you
Thanks for another great video. Is there any chance you could add the type of truck and any obvious mods when you have the driver's name? They mostly looked like SCX10's, but I'm new, so I could be waaay wrong. I did see lots of overdrive too. Any reason none of the guys are running portals?
I’ll try to gather more info on the cars next time. Portal axles are not very popular at the nationals mostly because of their lack of steering and relatively high cog. My portal rig made 5th in class 1. So there is a potential
Wouldn't UK driver drive the wrong side of the gates? Haha sorry, that was a bad joke. I wish you the best luck and hope to see you at our nationals one day! Now we'd have to change the title scale nationals to scale world champ!
Good strategy! We( more experienced ) always remind newer drivers to make 1 long reverse instead of multiple short ones. Under pressure, its easy to make quick reverse only to end up in exact same position. Long steady backing up is the key!
I know this vid is like a year old, but anyone know what body was the white SUV toward the end driven by Wil F. It is pretty chopped up. It was probably the Cherokee, but it looked more round kinda like a 2nd gen 4runner. Man I want a gen 2 or 3 4runner so bad but can't find a hard body that style
They are usually low. When I build my truck my goal is to make it as low as possible but just high enough to get over stuff with some force. Low center of gravity is key to do well on comp courses.
I've had DNF on a course because my truck was too low. It would get stuck and spun around on its belly just about every rock it tried to crawl over resulting hitting multiple gates- since then I raised ride height. haha it crawled real nice on extreme hills though. I guess it's all about balance.
Simply put , Class 1. Small tires(4.19”). full body and bumpers. Higher scale point cap(60pt) Class 2. Bugger tires(4.75”). Some body trim- pinching dovetail, 50 scale point. Class 3. Bigger tires(5.75”). More body modification allowed. 50 points. Like Mathew mentioned, visit sorrca.com for details.
That power wagon blew my mind with that winch!!! Awesome vid!!

The course is really excellent with difficult passages, very good rock crawling and great competition !!
sator rotas yes sir! Tough course for sure!
@@slopppy75 😊👍
Awesome video and driving by all. Gotta say thought that black tacoma... Hats off bro, full body, and hanging right in there.... Well done sir
Lovely videos n sports... Great hobby....
I see tons of super low c.g. rigs, running lots of Hyrax tires. Impressive builds!!!

I wish I could find an environment like this to do my crawling! Looks like lots of fun.
I hope you can find awesome places near you!
Great video, and awesome driving the passage to gate 4 looked like hell
Deadman RC I think that was the crux of the course. I fell off of the ledge after gate 3. It was so discouraging afterwards lol

100% agree! That would be very helpful.
I appreciate the input
I'm new to crawling and would really appreciate it as I don't understand a whole lot
Yeah this is awesome, ready love that red power wagon . I'll be watching for more, appreciate you sharing this adventure
Thank you Andy. The truck also made to top 5 and finished in 3rd place. An awesome truck it is
Excellent well done what an amazing day
TSully2013 it was a great day. Can t wait for the next one
No Hand of God here. Sneakers of God, yes, that we have. ;)
Haha yes plenty of them around!
Great job guys, some nice crawling and comp.
Thank you. It was the best RC crawling event I’ve been

Wow wheeling in 1:1 on those rocks would be amazing experience
Looked like fun bro. Great video👊👍🍻
Yes Nick it was a great event. thanks for watching

Nice video Man! Love how you get up in there
Thanks Jeff!

And overdrive is pretty much a must have
Yet another vid guys. If i ever win the uk lottery, you will have a yorkshire man on your turf. (fingers crossed).

@@slopppy75 thanks for the witty reply.
if youj are gonna take a reverse make it worth it. Dont back up just 2 inches. back up 2 feet if you can

What kind of body is that red wagen ..exellent performance..@! Where can i order it
Unfortunately it's a custom made hardbody. He told me that he used a factory made lexan body as the mold but I forgot what brand it was.
@@slopppy75 thanks a lot man ..!!
that looks like a steel sheet metal made body
What are the differences in the classes of crawlers?
Ive noticed that these trucks are lower than normal crawling trucks
They are usually low. When I build my truck my goal is to make it as low as possible but just high enough to get over stuff with some force. Low center of gravity is key to do well on comp courses.
@@slopppy75 yeah, i know you want that low cog but i was just extra surprised at the limit they pushed lol

man, I'm so sorry for the green and white truck because it went well but the time was up at the last gate so it didn't make progress
It was a great run. I wished he made it too but anything can happen in 6 minutes.
Where do I get one of those jeep bodies? Great video BTW~!
Robert S Tiest thanks! which truck are you referring to?
Cool as usual brother!!! When was this?
It was on 4/26/19 in New Mexico. Class 2 was held on second day of 3 day event.
Scale is as scale dose....
TGH:)
TEAM TGH did an awesome job!
if you have to use a winch to pull you through a gate you are not crawling.
👍
Thanks for the thumb! 👍👍
looks awesome but omg never seen such an annoying judge/guide with that yellow stick.
thanks for watching!
