If you are going to see you're favourite band and get that close you're not going to wear an earplug are you? Again as I said earlier I may be way off the mark but that is how it seems looking back.
I was there too. Based on seeing Green Day a couple of years ago at a festival, either it’s deep setups all throughout a tour, or they just enjoy bringing fans up. Either way, they put on an awesome show for their fans.
No, they bring up guitarists all the time. It's a show tradition they've been doing regularly since like '97. Tbh I assume he didn't take the solo because he wasn't confident in the solo, I wouldn't either.

I don’t know man there are some pretty bad guitarists they bring up sometimes. Especially at the show I went to in 2021.
