Also, Revocation started more thrash-death with really technical playing but as their career went on they've become heavier and darker starting with Deathless in 2014. Their song The Outer Ones is a fantastic example of the more technical death metal sound
There have been some amazing songs this week (tech Death) proving to me that the best kind of Death metal is that which is not Death! Loved this. 100% imo thrash. Reminds me of Anthrax on speed
Yup, that explains a lot. I know I mentioned Motorhead in the video but I didn't bring up the obvious Megadeth sound that occurs in the (i think) pre-chorus
Dave Davidson is a super talented musician! Their early stuff was very thrash inspired indeed, their later albums became even more technical en death-esque while still having some thrashy influence sprinkled in, to me they sound super unique and made their own sound along the years. Really recommend checking out their last albums Netherheaven or The Outer Ones. Nice analysis and reaction! Cheers
I was into the first few albums but lost track with all the other music These guys are very talented and have a great mix of groove and technicality that keeps the song moving And as a drummer I give it a chiefs kiss 😘 The song CLONE frorm Gojira's first or second album perfectly showcases such technical prowess and groove for such a young bando that time Thx for the vid man
Progressive Thrash my man, similar to Vektor who you've checked out before. Davidson is one of my favourite guitarist of this generation, supremely talented and so, so clean.
Yeah, I don't think this sounds like death metal, definetly more thrash. Not to sound like a hater either, but the banjo was a little gimmicky. I don't think it sounded appropriate for the song, although it was funny.
I am a simple man. I see a Revocation reaction and I hit the like button.
More Revocation. Please.

Yes! I would have loved to have heard a review of something off The Outer Ones
Dave Davidson is a Berklee School of Music Alum.
You gotta check out his jazz playing

the guitarrist is also in Artificial Brain, both great bands.
Yippee! Revocation! Woohoo!Woo-hoo!
Edit: Dave loves gnr and megadeth. That should explain a bit.

He definitely is. The last 2 Revo albums are so sick
I love The Outer Ones, such a great album!
Top 3 band for me. Stoked to check this out. Also if you haven't listened to the new Job For a Cowboy album, you'll be in for a treat as a bassist
More Revocation!!! please

A Gojira song popped in my head during this song 😀

If you’re exploring tech death check out early Atheist, they basically pioneered the genre.

Ya know.... I just have a way with words 🤣
They're songs always sound a little demented to me (I mean that in a good way!)
Revocation is thrash death metal in my eyes, very good band.
Fantastic band!!!
Hello, I would recommend any song from their 2018's record "The Outer Ones"
It's a party song in metal style. I don't like party songs in metal style.
