- Jonathan, an EMT in the UK, shares his insightful journey of overcoming anxiety with the assistance of the mentorship program at Bye Bye Panic. His story begins in the high-pressure environment of the ambulance service, where daily encounters with anxiety manifestations in patients highlighted the prevalence and impact of anxiety in various forms. Despite his medical expertise, Jonathan struggled with persistent anxiety symptoms like dread, palpitations, and sciatica, which he initially attributed to physical causes until they were ruled out by doctors.
His turning point came when personal circumstances, including a new relationship and its associated stresses, intensified his symptoms. Seeking help, Jonathan found Bye Bye Panic, where he was mentored by Shiv, among others. He praises the program for its direct human guidance, which significantly differed from his previous attempts at self-help through books and therapies that only provided temporary relief.
Throughout the interview, Jonathan emphasizes the importance of understanding and managing anxiety by redirecting focus away from symptoms and towards living life. He candidly discusses the challenges of self-education and the benefits of guided mentorship in achieving lasting recovery. His story is not only a testament to his resilience but also serves as an encouraging message to others suffering from anxiety, highlighting the effective support system provided by Bye Bye Panic.

This was an interesting watch. Im a UK paramedic who’s nervous system became sensitised working the job during the pandemic in 2021 whilst completing the paramedic degree.
It has to be one of the most stressful anxiety inducing jobs out there. 12-14 hours of cortisol and adrenaline secretion, 4 days in a row.
Massive hats off to Jonathan for making recovery gains whilst continuing his job as an EMT. It’s an added layer of stress on the nervous system that needs navigating on top of everything else. Also if you have any health anxiety, it can often be made worse by what you see on the road.
I’m also an Iraq war veteran who was exposed to short bursts of acute stress over a 6 month period, but it was nothing compared to the continual chronic stress of the ambulance service, where rates of PTSD are actually much higher.
I believe Jonathan’s experience of anxiety disorder and recovery will make him stronger and more grounded for it
Jonathan, how do you function during your work? Having full blown anxiety during work makes you prone to forget your training, making more mistakes etcetera…?
Hi
I have been watching shaan videos and reading Paul David and cleere weeks book and I’m not afraid of the anxiety symptoms and my panic attacks has stopped but I feel drowsy in the middle of the day. The drowsiness comes slowly and it takes all energy out of me and I have to lay down and it takes 2-3 hours before I feel energy again to do things.
Has anyone experienced this and am I coping it the right way?
I feel this too..extreme fatigue
Shaan, do you think it's ok if I never gone to a doctor for checking my health? I am strugling with anxiety and panic attacks for almost a year and I've had tons of symptoms that leads to anxiety like: heart palpitations, dpdr, headache, chest pain, intrusive thoughts random pain in body, swallow problems, agoraphobia etc. I started my recovery in february and now i can say that i am better than before, my symptoms are not that strong like before and panick attacks are rare, last time when I got panic attack was like two months ago. Do you think it's just anxiety? I have tons of symptoms that leads to anxiety and If i would have something, things could go worse.
No, I DONT it’s okay that you haven’t gone to your doctor and using these comments and videos to self diagnosis.

Jonathan! my boy! lol Great to see u smiling, my friend!
Anybody have ear pressure and ear spasming? Been to doctors 5 times there is nothing there. It makes me panic and im not coping at all
Shiv please help me ibs anxiety disorder panic attack
Hey sir hope you are fine. I’m 25 years old boy. My anxiety started exactly 3 years ago. The doctor gave me some panic attacks and anxiety medicine I took the medicine full course. Is there are any permanent side effects from Anxiety Medicine? Thank you
There are no permanent side effects, nothing to worry. SSRIS and benzos can’t damage your brain, you can have withdrawal symptoms for a short period but then your brain goes back to normal.
How can you get rid of the dizziness?
It’ll go away on it’s own. Just let it be. Trust me. It’ll pass
Its scary 😢
You don't
That's all you need to know
How do you not pay attention to heart palpitations?
You just let them be there and don’t react with fear towards them and they will go away. I found it much much easier to deal with the physical symptoms, it’s really the emotions and feelings that are the hardest
@rigas333 mine is just the palpitations which will sometimes cause my pressure to elevate 😌
Scares me 😢
@@vanessawanzer3234yea it’s the fear that keeps it going. Have you seen a doctor about your palpitations and pressure going up? Did they rule out any physical causes?
@rigas333 of course they said everything was ok
The toxicity of the comments on Shaans videos kill me, sometimes.
Its not only bad enough that there is countless hours of free content out there that covers everything needed to recover, people constantly complain about the fact that the program costs money (as it should)... but now we have people discounting the experiences of people who are sharing their journey. Extremely rude.
If some of you focused your energy in applying the principals instead of being nasty online, you'd actually recover.
It does feel sales tacticish tbh, you see it with all kinds of coaching and salds programs as well (diets, spiritual coaching, they all use the same format). The elements are deff there, ofc I understand Shaan and his team need to make a living, its a slippery (tricky) slope
Anxiety recovery is possible
If I can do it anyone can I swear
Did you do the mentorship? I can’t afford it but struggling really bad 😭

Once again, would appreciate a less sale-sy direction from this interviewer. They come off as extremely insincere and unwatchable. In addition, please have better questions that actually guide the interviewee.
They are explaining how they can help people through a person they have helped. BBP has soooo many recovery stories that have absolutely nothing to do with working in some info on their program, go watch those. But to say this was just a sales pitch is not valid whatsoever. I do hope you find what you’re looking for as it seems anxiety has found you. Good luck!
@@colincartee2145I actually applied the AWARE approach from Shann’s ebook. I didn’t buy anything but my pelvic pain went away like magic. Haha. I also did the newly released meditation. Try the free methods and see the results for yourself. I didn’t pay anything.
Initially i thought i have creudzfelt jacob disease , or flacid rabies
The guy doing the interview is not genuine. He might be nervous to do the interview which is why it’s coming off as not authentic. Getting used car salesman vibes from him.
That man hasnt recovered fully I can see in his eyes,Shaan should still work with him his going to get there
You are correct my friend I haven't recovered fully. After 6 months I would expect it to take me longer but I'm on the right track
@@Jonathan-tl7llYou will overcome this and be greater for it!
@@Jonathan-tl7llit took me a year and 8 months, you will get there
how did u know u were recovering i can't seem to track my progress
@@nourelhoudabelagrouz7908 that’s the secret, the more you track your progress the more it’s gonna stay, don’t try to track your progress, keep living with full acceptance of your symptoms and it will go away very quietly without you even noticing
