It was the last glorious year of Miss India peagent until 2017 & 2021. It's nostalgic. I remember watching this live on TV back then in cold winter. I hope the craze will be revived again by the very recent win at Miss Universe.

Mindfulness is the winning key. I am very sure these 3 girls meditate too, hence no trace of stress in a tie-breaker round, no wonder they all won Miss India and the respective international crowns. Ironically, even at the finale of Miss Universe, the earrings she wore were borrowed from a co-contestant. I think every girl needs to take that call, despite all the hardships, Sush still brought in so much of confidence with her presence and wore that beautiful smile which instantly let a sneak in the purity of a beautiful soul. when I look back at the year 2000 it’s indeed very nostalgic feeling and now back in November 2017 when Manushi won Miss World 2017 it was the proudest moment for all of us we had waited 17 long years for that blue crown to come back to our country,and now we can only hope that is this winning streak continues at Miss World and of course other international beauty pageants especially Miss Universe now that’s something we really need our third Miss Universe and I hope it happens very soon 😘

This Video by Miss Femina India 2000 was awesome. All contestants were so pretty, classy and witty. Lara won the 2000 Miss Universe while Prianka won the Miss World 2000 which was a repeat from their 1994 version of Miss Femina India. India is the only country in Asia and the World who ever made this kind of streak in those years.
Though it is a "beauty" pageant, it gave belief to young girls that in life they can be what they want to be. These 3 women may have won their titles 20 years back but even today they uphold their persona which is evident on stage - Dia went within and is on an elegant journey of helping fellow humans, Lara is so intellectual and graceful, Priyanka is confident and has etched her name even till UN level. These are truly beautiful divas from within who teach us that beauty pageants give you the opportunity to be what you want to be. Not the one you need to be.
When Miss India pageant was a classy affair, so much so that the likes of Carolin Herrera were on the judging panel. Now, the show has turned into a Bollywood trash with Vijendra Singh being a judge. What on earth does he know about pageants?
With the kind of quality they have stooped down in terms of contestants, stage, host, grooming, etc..wont be surprised if Rakhi Sawant, KRK , etc are judges.

The problem is within the organization itself. It chose the main aspirations as beauty instead of beauty with brains. We don't have well spoken candidates like that of Lara or Sushmita or Yuktah or the iconic Manpreet. The new breed only care about looking beautiful. In all honesty, even Manushi,despite her winning the Miss World lacks serious communication skills, a stage presence and charisma.

Though it is a "beauty" pageant, it gave belief to young girls that in life they can be what they want to be. These 3 women may have won their titles 20 years back but even today they uphold their persona which is evident on stage - Dia went within and is on an elegant journey of helping fellow humans, Lara is so intellectual and graceful, Priyanka is confident and has etched her name even till UN level. These are truly beautiful divas from within who teach us that beauty pageants give you the opportunity to be what you want to be. Not the one you need to be.

Ummmm I see Md. Azharuddin in the judges panel though. Nevertheless, these were the good ol'days. 2000 was the year of Beauty Queens from India just like 1994. 1994-2000 were very glorious wins for India.

The problem is within the organization itself.
It chose the main aspirations as beauty instead of beauty with brains.
We don't have well spoken candidates like that of Lara or Sushmita or Yuktah or the iconic Manpreet.
The new breed only care about looking beautiful.
In all honesty, even Manushi,despite her winning the Miss World lacks serious communication skills, a stage presence and charisma.
