- What is Feminism? (Part 1). Despite all warning against the hazards of treading into such ideologically charged territory (especially for a man), I have taken the plunge into discussing the women's question -- or should I say, the question of the relations between women and men. In this video I look at the rise of first wave feminism, the debates that it generated, its weaknesses, and it's great victories.

Sir i am from kashmir and i like your lectures
Good job sir, but if you allow me to share my view upon the Lecture. The lecture is more about the social and political mores of the time while it should have been on the first wave feminism. You just gave a touch to a very important text of the time, A Vindication of the Rights of Woman. Similarly you forgot they first waver deplores being female, being mothers, and having female bodies. Similarly, pregnancy is deemed and a curse, a symbol of dis-empowerment. Moreover, you forgot to mention its main ruberic Equality, equality with men. However, the way you have background is excellent, I learnt a lot.
