One can also use seafoam trees as small plants and vegetation at larger scales, even 1/10 scale, which isn't a scale that most scenery supplies are made for. It's a bit time consuming since you have to individually glue small bits of coarse turf to the ends of the little branches (as individual leaves)... but it looks better than plastic aquarium plants and plastic floral greenery.
lol... lots and lots of rubber mold material... I used some robotic animatronics to animate the hand! It was quite the engineering feet especially considering it had to lift a land rover that weighs at least 3 tonnes!
Not to mention having to rent a skyhook to lower the hand/arm/land rover combo into the outback for that scene, the budget on these videos must be astronomical 😉
I don’t even know how I came across your channel, but I’ve been hooked for the past few days! I don’t create anything like this, but you are so talented. Much love from Scotland 🏴
Hey Luke, fantastic work! Question though: What do you do with all these models? Do they fit into a larger exhibit or are they just self-standing works of art? cheers!
Great video. Your lighting for your scenes is fantastic. It really makes the final touch of realism. I'm going to try to remember that for some day down the road. Coating the trees with WS Cement is a nice touch. I have previously dipped them in urethane rubber to bolster them - aiming more towards gamers who often have errant dice. It's a pain in arse to do though. :) Have you considered using vegetable glycerine to help keep them supple? It's something I plan on trying next time I dig into my seafoam. A sporadic event to be sure. Oh, and kudos for keeping the foliage off the stem and branches. That can be tricky.
When will the next realistic scenery volume 10 be realeased it’s your scenery but I would like to see a mountain range type scenery so I could know how to make that type of scene
Hi, I discovered your UA-cam page and I think your creations are incredible. It's crazy to think that with a few things you can have a big result! I am writing to you that I would like to know how you got to this point. I am currently a security guard and would like to change jobs. I would like to become a model maker (create 3D scale models as a freelancer). My question is: What studies should be done to get there? Thank you for your response and good luck! A loyal admirer
Do you order directly from the Gaugemaster website? I'm interested in replicating this technique but the ones I have found on Amazon I believe are fraudulent because the prices are extremely higher than their website listings. Spanning from $90 for a $25 up to what I saw listed around $15 dollars on their website listed at $2,175.69 on Amazon.
Hey Luke! I’m sorry to tell you, but I’ve seen people on other social media platforms using your videos and not crediting you. I responded in the comments of these posts giving credit but I thought you should know. Sucks that these things happen 😕
Do you wait for the alcohol to dry before applying the glue mix? Your vid appears that you apply glue while still wet and I needed to be sure. Thanks in advance.
I CANNOT BUY A LOT OF MATERIALS BECAUSE OF AMERICA. BECAUSE DOLLAR IS TOO PRICY. ALSO INFLATION IS HIGH IN TURKEY. PLEASE GIVE MORE ECONOMIC TECHNIQUES FOR US!
Surprised you can import that Seafoam stuff, I saw a program last night where a woman had a wooden spoon in her bag. Customs found it and gave her a fine.
lol... yeah when I ordered it I was skeptical whether I would actually receive it or not however I have seen it at a hobby shop in Adelaide so I was hopeful. I ordered 3 boxes after the first order made it through and I might try to slowly stock up on supplies over the next few weeks because the customs import fees and process is supposed to change here in Australia on the first of July... Who knows what will happen to imports after that date (Higher taxes!)
Luke Towan have you thought about growing your own. There is a quite good guide on line from a model train enthusiast. But if they find you growing an non native species of flora, they probably jail you for life.
Hello Luke, i was looking back on this video for reference and i was wondering: where could i find that link to the "Drying Rack " video you mentioned in the video? I didn't see it in the description so i thought i might ask! Thank you so much and love looking back on your original works!! :) -Tim

Two videos in a month?? We are not worthy!

Its funny that even in the diorama of australia you can still find big arthropods

I don’t even know how I came across your channel, but I’ve been hooked for the past few days! I don’t create anything like this, but you are so talented. Much love from Scotland 🏴

Luke Towan Always mate 👌
Not even an Aussie and my brain starts singing "kookaburra sits in the old gum tree . . ."
0:15
The scenery looked like real life until you hand came down. Amazing!
I was thinking the exact same thing, thought at first it was a example of what a diorama could look like and then suddenly a massive hand appeared.
Jeroenoman it's not his hand
It's God's hand

Very nice. I use almost exactly the same process, only I make them slightly smaller for N scale.
Awesome, yeah I read a forum post a while ago that mentioned soaking the trees to straighten them. It works very well 😀
