Joe was the friendliest guy I have ever met, he is down to earth I met him a few times in my shop Lord John Kings Road shop and Viki was just a beautiful woman great memories.
in 2022 or 2023 Joe Brown appeared in an episode of 'Bangers & Cash'. He got the Mathewson's to put his Morgan sports car to their auction house. he struggled to get in & out of the thing .. 🚙
I was stationed at RAF Salalah in the Dhofar Province of Oman from March - July 1972. We had the pleasure of a CSE concert featuring Joe and Vickie Brown. Still have the photos from the concert, but like me, starting to fade!! Wonderful memories.
What a breath of fresh air to watch this video after so much time has passed. Joe has been an inspiration to me and is one of the reasons I started gigging when I was 17 back in 1964. Such precious memories ❤🖖👀
My Dad Tony and his Bruvvor Pete where the original bruvvors in Joe brown and the bruvvors, ture story, me and my mum still love listening to this song ❤️ 😁
I’ve seen Joe Brown play live twice - I wasn’t born when he had his hit records, but I do remember him on TV a lot when I was growing up, and I always liked the music he played - on Oh Boy he always promoted rock n roll and roots music, and his live shows are no different. Comes across as a thoroughly likeable man, and he’s still a great musician and entertainer.
It was 1959, I was 12 and my big brother was having a party. The door opened and Joe Brown came into my bedroom with a girl, they saw me and she gave a little scream, eek! and fled. Joe Brown came right into the room wanting to know why I was awake, we talked and he ended up teaching me pontoon(a card game) I'm 73 now and it is one of those memories that makes me smile when I think of it. He was also the only one of my brother's friends who stayed the night and helped clean up the next day., several others stayed but all left when the clean up started
Me and a couple of mates get together regularly and we nearly always end up with this one. Joe lived a few streets away from me back along and I met him once, lovely bloke.
I used to do vocal sessions with her and she could really make me laugh, and Sam, too. I remember the pair of them having me in stitches at their place in West Hampstead - I lived nearby in Fortune Green Road at the time. I was really sad when she left us so early.
Seen Joe Brown numerous times over the past 15 years and noone is as talented and entertaining as him.....shows are a revelation of how talented he is especially on stringed instruments....in a class of his own.
Vicki was one of the Vernon's Girls a scouse vocal group seen on many pop shows on TV many moons ago. She had a single out herself, called Look For Me In Rainbows a heart rending number
I can't remember the year that Joe first appeared on the music scene. I was still at school, and he really was my first guitar hero, along with Hank Marvin. I belonged to Joe's fan club until I left school. Lovely fella and a great entertainer.
Oh my goodness! This takes me back, the era of 'taking pictures' with Kodak cameras, and if my memory is still intact, of Marty Wilde, Cliff, Roy Orbison. Memorable Joe Brown number - 1 'Hit' reprise: 60+ years in 'the business'.
Still got the Picadilly 45 single I bought in ' 62 which took 3 weeks of pocket money to buy plus an extra 6d that my mum gave me to get it as she liked the song as well !.
Hi Joe thankyou so much for your inspiration and for signing my Gretsch at Weston Super Mare. Im glad you liked it . I have followed you since i started playing and first met you when Niel introduced me to you . He was so great and i couldnt believe it when he passed. I suffered a finger amputation when i was working . Im back playing again i really dont know how . But ive amazed everyone even my surgeons . First song i did was Sea of a heartbreak . Love that song so much. Im know playinh cannonball rag . Guitar Rag merle travis etc . I never dreamt i would be playing again. I have sessioned for The Comets The Blue Caps etc . Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for your inspiration my friend god bless Wayne
I have the original single somewhere in my old collection gathered and much loved in childhood. As I remember, the B side was the song about our local Labour Exchange has gone to rack and ruin, I think titled Worker's Lament, or something like that? Great stuff. Edit: Layabout's Lament!
@@andymoore9977 I believe his surname was Pollard. When Joe was given a "This is your Life" programme he turned up on the programme. My Dad was annoyed was that he didn't wear a suit. Also Joe mentions my Nan Dance's family in his memoirs. He talks about them being a rowdy lot in the East End pubs singing and playing piano. I'd love to meet Joe and see what he remembers about it all!
I seem to remember Joe living in the Henley area and being a friend of George Harrison. I lived there in the late 80s, early 90s and occasionally saw him around.
Great Group and great song. I knew the writer of "Picture of you" Johnny Bev or (Johnny Beverage) he came from Irvine, Girdle Toll, great song. Joe made this song a smash hit, love it.
I remember I was about 10/11 my bruvver took me and other family members to see Joe in Aladdin at Tooting Bec cinema, most live gigs were in cinemas in those days. Anyway at the end ofvthe Panto Joe and his Bruvvers did a 15 minute set, my first live gig. A great night.

One of the nicest guys in music. Great to see live! 👍
And a hugely accomplished guitarist
Check out Misty Mountain.Joe sings and writes beautifully.Sadly people see him as Tommy Steel, not Neil Young.Their loss.
how could anyone give this a thumbs down?
BTW - Vicki Brown has an amazing voice...and her moves are mighty fine as well

Spot on. Joe sounds as good as ever. One of my favourites of his, along with Sally Ann. And I have to say Vicki is stunning here. 👍

Happy Birthday Joe, I hope you have a great time.
Always liked Joe since I was a young lad in the East End of London in the 60's.

OMG - talk about feeling old.......when I was a laddie I bought this single, it was on the Piccadily records label.
His Mrs was gorgeous. Great singer and mover too.

Seen Joe live a few times. Always a great performer. Apparently my Dad’s cousin sold Joe his first guitar.
Quite a claim to fame that! That transaction changed pop/rock music in the UK forever, maybe it was directly responsible for the 'British Invasion'.
