Capp00 you should try and do an animated series for this game. I'd definitely watch it.

Man those run a lot longer then i though. Guess I didn't need an entire storage chest of fuel for 1 generator -_-

Not unless you plan on powering the entire city with 1 :)

But now you dont need to harvest 👍🏻
I gathered 30k plant fibers . . . And only needed 16-18k to get to 100 talor 😂😂🤦‍♂️ But now i have tons of fuel for furnaces

Another great vid Capp. Sounds logical, the more wattage you use the more gas you use up.

    • @capp00

Thanks! Yeah, it makes sense, except for when you don't use any gas at all if it's not powering anything lol

A request for future testing Cap00. I have problems with lighting. Inside my base ceiling lights don't hit the ground. Outside, lights don't seem to cut the dark very well. Would you be willing to test different lights in different situations to work out the best for each? Example: does a particular light perform differently in different positions. Is quality of light output affected by different equipment. Is there optimum light heights. Anything else you may think of...
Thanks for a great job, as usual.

Course at the 4 minute mark my first thought was "Maybe the sample size is just too small" -- in this case the sample size being the short length of time they were left running. Should try running the experiment over multiple days.

Hey, capp, I was wondering a small detail about the height test you did, what if you are at the 150 mark I think it was, and then the blood moon activates. I was thinking that even if you're high up before the blood moon that it might auto hunt you.

Regarding your video on escaping the blood-moon horde, on my singleplayer survival, I managed to remain undetected during the horde of day 7.
What I am currently doing is building an underground base at bedrock level, underneath a mountain. From the floor of my base, all the way up to ground level is 163 blocks up. The plan is to dig a big hole all the way down so the zombies will fall in and die. You need a large elevation difference for zombies to take damage at all, since free-fall bases were considered overpowered, so the amount of fall damage zombies take is reduced. What I read is that the threshold is a height of around 150 blocks for zombies to start breaking their legs.
What I wasn't prepared for is that the horde couldn't find me at all, with the exception of three of 'em that fell down the hole (which currently is still very small, because I have a volume 9 X 4 X 163 blocks to dig through). The zombies that fell died immediately on impact, which surprised me. The rest simply died on their own by the time I climbed back up in the morning. They had been digging into the ground as if they knew I was down there somewhere, but throughout the entire night, the "undetected" symbol was displayed.

I know this might be tedious but in videos like this could you add additional information on how long a gallon of gas will last. Since the amount of wattage being used is consistent with how much gas is used. Could you maybe show how much gas is used with 10 watts for an hour. So someone could calculate their own math.
    An example.
Sally is about to take on the day 7 horde. She has 3 blade traps, 5 relays, and 100 gas. How long will Sally's generator last if 3 gallons of gas is used every hour for every 10 watts.
To me I would love to know this information because I want calculate how many days I could last if I had X number of blade traps running all day or X number of watts. That would help me prioritize on if I need to farm for oil soon or not.
Even though you didn't explicitly state the amount of gas used per hour. I calculated based on your first test. The last generator which was using 10 watts was started at 14:07 and you opened the gen at 19:07. Only 3 gallons of gas was used per 5 hours. I think I might end up doing my own testing to get a more exact time frame. This video was very helpful. Thanks.
Here's an algorithm I came up with based on your testing. (Watts + Hours)/5 = Gas
    Examples
    Your testing. (10 + 5) / 5 = 3
    My Example.(40 + 5) / 5 = 9 Representing 40 watts for 5 hours will need 9 gas.
Other variations of this eqation can be be as follows.
    (5 * Gas) - Hours = Watts Or
    (5 * Gas) - Watts = Hours
Of course this may not be an exact equation. This is only what I came up with based on your video.
I might test this in my game to get a better equation. If anyone cares I can post my results.

    • @sifiisreal
      @sifiisreal 7 років тому +1

Ive tested this in my game and developed a new equation thats more accurate but not the exact equation the game uses I dont think.
      (5.5 * Gas) / Watts = Hours
      (Watts * Hours) / 5.5 = Gas
      (5.5 * Gas) / Hours = Watts
I think this equation will produce a -5% margin error.
Please note I am using 120 minute days and I believe Capp is also (maybe?). You can easily convert by using the variable x and 120. X will represent how long your days are and that will give you the correct numbers for your day lengths.
Here are all the equations with the conversion.
      (5.5 * Gas * 120) / (Watts * x) = Hours
      (Watts * Hours * x) / (5.5 * 120) = Gas
      (5.5 * Gas * 120) / (Hours * x) = Watts

I am reading this and will provide a better response once I get my brain up to speed enough to think about it more clearly. didn't want you to think i was ignoring you :)

    • @sifiisreal
      @sifiisreal 7 років тому

No problem. The more I look at my equations for some reason they don't seem to add up to your video. You used 10 watts for 5 hours and you used 3 gas but, my equation says you should of used 10 gas. I've tested this equation in my own game and everything adds up correctly. Anyways no need for a response if you like. I like your tests and only wanted to test my self to see if I could create an equation to help the community.
By any chance are you using 30 or 40 minute days? Or did you use the fast forward button?
Actually im almost certain your not using 120 minute days because when I convert the hours variable for 60, 40, and 30 minute days the amout of gas you spent comes closer to a 40 minute day or 50.

so you could have a generator running for your lights only and have a auto sensor for each room that will turn the lights on and off as you enter and exit the rooms as you use them thus conserving gas and only having to mabe refuel them once every 2-3 in game days especially if you are on a MP server

Thought about that honestly. But it's within seconds and each time I let the generators run for a while, and also turned them back off in the same order, so it all evened out.
