- Join the BFI & Radio Time TV Festival as broadcaster Kirsty Lang speaks to Bridgerton Creator Chris Van Dusen, costume designer Ellen Mirojnick and cast about the extraordinary global success of the show and the announcement of Season 2.
Joining Chris and Ellen are cast members Phoebe Dynevor, Rege-Jean Page, Jonathan Bailey, Nicola Coughlan, Claudia Jessie, Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh and Luke Newton.

Phoebe Dynevor and Rege Jean Page, both are equal stars of the show. Hands down! Their chemistry and talent are undeniable. In fact, the entire cast and crew are absolutely amazing.
Daphne's sex scenes were wonderful because PHOEBE DYNEVOR NAILED THE facial expressions and gasps... I salute u girl!
I agree, but i'm sure it was a joy to film such scandalous scenes with a man this FINE. He seems as gorgeous and gracious on the inside too !

Loved the questions in this interview and the depth of responses each actor expressed. As usual RJP breadth and depth was flawless. His eloquence and deep thought regardless of question is astounding! You can tell he spends a ton of time behind books feeding his mind ... with each interview I’ve just been blown by his responses especially well thought out and interesting interviews like this... not too many actors bring such passion and thought to their characters after the fact 👏🏿
EVERYONE EVERY CAST NAILED THEIR ROLE. HONESTLY IT IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL AND ENTERTAINING SHOW

I love how Lady Danbury is a mother figure for Simon! It's shown differently; he respects her opinion like a mom. I loved Lady Danbury and Simon's relationship!

Well I was disappointed as to how Phoebe acted and portrayed herself during this panel discussion; as if she was posh. Didn’t even smile once. I guess all this fame and attention are getting into her. I didn’t like how she answered the questions. I do hope she’s going to smile during another interview. She looked so uninterested 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Phoebe had an interview yesterday in tbs and I could tell she was in a hotel room as well. Also she seemed very relaxed. Closer to what she is usually in zoom discussions. Maybe she is preparing sth else, other than Bridgerton.
I doubt it . Just different room. Angle. He looked tired probably because of time difference. But absolutely they’ll be in S2. Both of them. And both, esp Rege will be in demand for other projects.
Thank you Kirsty Lang for such a well held together panel and great sets of questions. The costumes were truly magnificent and the cast to die for. Chris's adaptation is true escapism.
Thanks Bridgerton for taking me out of The Queen’s Gambit because after The Queen’s Gambit I can’t find any good new show after I saw Bridgerton I’m impressed

Absolutely love this show. EVERYTHING about it is amazing. I hope all these actors/actresses get noticed for their talent and not only for being part of Bridgerton because they deserve it.

Just realized that they were serious here, because this is probably their push to get nominated for the Golden Globes and other awards show. Notice how they focused on their characters and the groundbreaking approach rather than the personal type questions we've seen in other interviews. Golden Globes nominations are announced this week.
They all did so well. It's not an extraordinary story but the actors and production did so well, so grand! The music scoring was fresh, the costumes, the diversity in cast! We have a fan group on Facebook where every race and culture meld together discussing love for Bridgerton, we've found a common ground and it's peaceful in there.
Thanks so much for having this Q&A. The entire cast and crew, even the costume designer are all superb and top knotch. So happy to hear their experiences behind-the-scenes and also, how much time, effort, and hard work it took to bring the series together. I read somewhere that Rege is the next Michael Jordan (the actor) and that bothers me. It bothers me because not only are they 2 different people but I want people Rege to be his own person. I want him to be known as his own person. Not compared to Michael or any other actor. I see bright things for him :)
Agreed. I actually think that Regé is even better as far as versatility, talent and depth. So he shouldnt be the shadow of anyone. If they need to compare him, I would say he comes close to Leonardo Dicaprio.
PS: I like Michael B Jordan but Regé definitely has the "it" factor.

Bridgerton is a wonderful example of how races might relate to one another. It's right out there but it's not a problem. People are black or white or both and no one says a word about it.

@@carly4601 No the screenplay diverge a lot from the book itself ld say about 50% diversion and the introduction of characters who were not in book one

I love Regé but I also hope Jonathan gets a great season as well. He played his role in the first season so well. The chemistry between him and Sienna was so much off the roof. I was surprised when he openly stated his sexual orientation. He burned for Sienna in every scene😅
@@MLW374 yeah, he played the role so well, I’m a bit upset people hate his character and don’t really notice him and his acting. I started the series for Rege and wasn’t paying attention to Anthony, but Jonathan stood out for me and his acting was so interesting to watch, I started liking his character too.

I have to say that although I find this interview quite insightful, I find that the fact that the interviewer, Kirsty, cannot pronounce Adjoa Andoh's name properly really jarring. Doesn't take much to get it right, shows that you've actually done the research and have some respect for the actor.
when was the last time a leading man was this intelligent? rege has insisted on serious discourse for what is essentially a generic romance and it's worked.

I hate when they call Simon’s character selfish. Daphne was the one taking advantage of him and he still committed to looking after her financially after that. He told her everything from the beginning.
He lied about not being able to have kids which is different than saying I took a vow to not have an heir

From a female perspective, I really love that the director NAILED the sex scenes. I really felt that they were done so well. They were sexy yet respectful-meaning it wasnt like I was watching a late night softcore 'overly dramatized' porn scenes. Personally I HATED the sex scenes in game of thrones because it always felt like they were objectifying woman in such a crude manner, and Im not an old person either. Just my serious grats to the cast and director.
Now all I hope for is the exact same energy and beautiful writing and acting to be in season 2. Cant wait! xD
Same!! I love how its shot from Daphne's perspective. Really refreshing and relatable tbh. i really love the boxing scene where Daphne was staring at Simon pulling his sleeves up, i was like "uhm yas girl same 🤤🤤🤤".
