Oh, Ren is a BRILLIANT ARTIST! BEST storyteller I've heard in a VERY LONG TIME! 🤷♀️ The Tale of Jenny & Screech(full version), his BRAND NEW ONE/SICK Boi is SICK! 😏 Along with the REST of his catalog! ✌️❤️🔥🔥🔥🎶🎶🎶🙋♀️
I have been enjoying everyone finally finding Ren. He is a master of his art from and his mind is on another level. Seen lots of reactions to hi Ren and it hits me in the feels every time 😅. I liked your breakdown after. So many reactors are just speechless after it and are not able to show it much attention so thank you. If you want some suggestions to his songs or others, all I listen to is underground artists.
Thanks for reacting to this. Ren just got to Canada for treatment's, a couple times a week & could be there for up to 6mo's... but he brilliantly pre-recorded song's/vid's & will be releasing them in due time. Thanks for reacting to this. Stay awesome. Stay healthy. He's gonna love your reaction. Also... he literally visualized his lyrics. Tiny light in the back casting a darker shadow in front of the brightest light showing lightest shadow. Him being sickly/stiff, then loosening up. Standing (growing) & fluidly moving about in full expression while his feet stay planted.
Pretty sure they are all nylon strings, very distinctive sound. Nice commentary. Would like to see your face a *bit* bigger when you're watching though, to see your reactions better :). As someone else said, check out Ren's Trilogy of "Jenny and Screech (Full)" next. :)
Sure I can make myself a bit bigger. Yes, I use an audio limiter to balance my voice and the video, so it's less jarring for the viewer. However, I try and pause the video if I think I have something useful to add. It's easy to miss important information if you talk over the music. Hi, Ren reads like a juggle between folk hip-hop, a touch of bluegrass, and even metal with those power cords. It shouldn't work on paper, but Ren pulls it off with impressive creative precision.
The genius and beauty of Ren's performance is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to know what to expect. It's a visceral, mind-boggling punch right in the head, heart, and soul 🤯 💔 ending with a powerful, resonating, and enduring message of inspiration and hope ❤️🔥 🙏 ❤️🩹 A gut-wrenchingly brilliant, artistic masterpiece 💙
Amazing reaction video even though I hate calling them that. I have watched about 200 or so now on Ren's song from the last verse through the monologue out of sheer happiness to see what he does to peoples souls with his music. Your analysis was eloquently put brother and so on point. This is the type of artist people want to know and experience. Great vid ✌🧡👍
Great reaction and commentary. I only recently learned about Ren and have gone down this rabbit hole ever since. Many of the subjects, experiences, and emotions expressed in his songs touch me on a very personal level because I can relate to and identify with many of his struggles. You have already done your research into Ren's background. Here is some more information that I gathered from the internet. Ren pursued a career in music from an early age. In 2009, while studying music performance at Bath Spa University, he began to experience health issues and was struggling to attend his lectures. In 2010, he was signed by Sony Records and was working on an album when his health deteriorated to the point where he was unable to continue. His illness often kept him in bed for up to 23 hours a day. Ren was initially diagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome. It would take seven years before he was finally correctly diagnosed with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and brain damage. Ren eventually underwent stem cell therapy in the United States, which improved his health, but it has not been a cure. He is currently in Canada for more treatments. Ren is an incredible and unique artist; he plays multiple instruments, has great vocal ability, is an excellent storyteller, and is quite the philosopher and poet. From what I read, his videos are generally shot live, all in one take by his friend. I recommend you check out some of his other work. The trilogy "The Tale of Jenny/Screech/Violet" is haunting and has an unexpected ending; WATCH THEM IN THE STATED ORDER, as this is the flow of the storyline or just watch “The Tale of Jenny & Screech (Full)” which includes “Violet’s Tale at the end. It is another example of Ren’s genius and a master’s class in storytelling. His song "Money Game" (Part I & II) is another recommendation. If you like his personal reflections, they are threaded through many of his songs; "Insomnia," "Depression," “Diazepam," “Penitence,” “Dear God,” “Heretic,” “Dominos,” his "Freckled Angels" album, just to name a few, all deserve a listen. As a solo act, Ren performs a range of genres, much of it hip-hop/rap influenced, as well as guitar-based ballads. His collaborations with Sam Tompkins (“Blind Eyed,” “Earned it /Mans World / Falling”), with Chinchilla (“How to Be Me,” “Chalk Outlines”), with Eden Nash (“Humble,” “Ocean”), with Bibi (“Crutch,” “Ahiahiaoha”), with Molly McKinna (“Penitence”), with his former band mate, Romain Axisa (“French Song”) and any of his performances as a member of the band "The Big Push" (which unfortunately broke up) are awesome and well worth checking out, both the busking (street performances) and their live recordings. Ren has impressive vocal and instrumental skills. He is one-of-a-kind and appears mature beyond his years. Ren released just his latest single, “Sick Boi.” In anticipation of his stay in Canada for more treatments, Ren prepared some music ahead of time to be released over the next 3-6 months that he expects to be gone.
