    I have made multiple journals using the Coptic stitch binding. However, every time I do it I have to watch a video again on how to do it. Yours came up this time when I searched it and it is the best instructions I have ever seen. Thank you so much for showing us how to do this binding.

    Hey cool post! Thanks for slowing down and zooming in on the parts that matter. Any advice on how far in to poke the holes on the cover? And you nailed the length of the string, what's the rule of thumb for guesstimating? And I'd go with a curved needle, it will prevent the opening to find the needle, it just loops around the previous stitch.

    • @BooksBindFaye
      @BooksBindFaye  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you Diego! The hole can be any from 1/2 inch or longer depending on your cover design. For the string estimates, I normally measure it with the spine plus the number of layers, then plus the length of covers. I did failed with the length measuring too, sometimes. 😄 also, thank you for your suggestion about the needle! I will definitely practice more with curve needles. 💛

    • @jeanetteclawson6398
      @jeanetteclawson6398 3 роки тому +2

      Apparently it needs to be about 10 inches longer than I thought 😭 This is my first try and the last hole on my cover is empty. I’m not going to start over. Other than that it’s a great tutorial

    • @BooksBindFaye
      @BooksBindFaye  3 роки тому +3
