- Today I’m showing you how I decorated my mantle, hearth and sofa table for spring. I’ve been doing a little furniture rearrangement to make room for my Hoosier cupboard and I found a really nice primitive piece to add to my home.

Hi Melanie, everything looks wonderful. I had a Hoosier years ago that I put in a corner so it sat at an angle then I could open the top doors to decorate inside. They are so fun.

@@melaniethompson6353 you’re so right! I did country many years ago until I knew the primitive was for what I wanted. To me it’s not just a style, I crave stepping back in time, the simplicity of a less chaotic world (still use a rotary dial landline and no cell 😂), I use my oil lamps to read by, my old cutting boards to cook with, etc and just love the warmth, coziness and timeless treasures of the past. I got rid of pip berries, country craft type items and focused more on the 1800’s and love it! Our whole home is from yard sales, estate sales and thrift shops as I’m disabled, on a budget and have to find my antiques that way. Luckily they’re plentiful here in central New York and very reasonable. I just got a 15 gallon crock for $5 that I’m using as an end table. I thought my husband would die when he had to bring that in 😂. I’m loving watching you evolve from country to the primitive as I can see the same passion I had 20 years ago when I did. Love your videos♥️♥️

Wow! We had that same Hoosier when I was little. Even the same color enamel top. That's crazy. There was a sifter under the one door I think.😊

Hubby seems to think it looks like a tool box and the hole in the lid could be for a square…not sure but thought we would add our 2 cents! Enjoyed the video!

I have been wanting a dry sin and i dont have the budget but i seen a changing table for q baby on marketplace today and i thought you know that may work it looked like a dry sink except no drawers but i thought i could drawers lol is that totally insane idea or would it work.
