I think a lot of the comments here are confused thinking this was a demo that Miley did or something. This was song was never anyone's other than Ariana's, Miley just did a cover of No Tears Left To Cry a few years back and this is an edited version of that.
Her voice is very different. You really have to know her voice before listening. I didn't sound bad to me. The way she sings is something im not used to.

She singing all the vowels perfectly. Like when she says "up". That may contribute to the weird sound. And her runs are really flowy. People say its autotune but i don't think it is. In all her recent performances, her riffs are very distinct.
There are a few songs that suits her voice really well like When I Look At You, Joleen, Don't Dream It's Over.. etc. In my opinion I think this one doesn't suit her as well, no shade-
