      @@realpars well i passed. not in a pretty way. but passed. :) it's hard when you are a practical learner and work with aduino and 3D printers in the spare time. but forced to work with expensive Siemens equipment. and Corona didn't help. because that kept us away from our hardware....

    • @realpars
      @realpars  2 роки тому +1

      Power BI is a tool that certainly can be used for planning. as well as o0ther data-centric analyses. You will also need to collect the data that is analyzed by Power BI to have a complete Planning level application.

    According to the pyramid...Where can I put an DCS (distribuited control system), at the same level of SCADA in the pyramid? What's the main difference between DCS and SCADA?

    • @michaaopek4654
      @michaaopek4654 5 років тому +3

      I would recommand to view at the website ResearchGate, there is a comparision between this both...
      To keep it short, SCADA is event driven and data oriented. Its used to monitor and control a whole process.
      DCS is more a local control. Its process oriented and state driven. Its controls a concrete process part.
      So I would say, DCS is more in Layer 2 - Control Level in use and not at the same level as a SCADA.

    Do you know what are the "telegrams" in the MES System?
    The MES Terminals are sending the "telegrams" to the Server?
    What is a telegram?

    • @realpars
      @realpars  5 років тому +2

      Hi there, thanks for your compliment and happy to hear that.
      The software systems that run at the level 3 are called Manufacturing Execution Systems or MES. This software communicates with all Level 2 systems at all times through bi-directional telegrams. The term "bidirectional telegram" here means communicating through sending and receiving messages. The type of communication depends on the design of the network structure.
      We can say level 4 communicates with Level 3 through bi-directional telegrams as well.

    What level will you place CPIMS, PI servers e.g Honeywell PHD ?

    • @realpars
      @realpars  5 років тому

      These historian applications are part of the Supervisory level, and the data stored is used extensively at the Superviory Level to monitor trends and at the Planning Level (MES) to determine inventories, product production schedules, and raw material usage, to name a few.

    Its a good video, the only thing I am missing is the new trend to remove the borders between the levels with industry 4.0. At this moment this view is correct, but in near future, even the MES or ERP can access direct the field level (for example via OPC UA).
