Mark knophler deserves a noble prize...he is a master writer ..
MK is a genius musician. He manages to touch the deepest recesses of the soul with the music he creates.

It never seams to amaze me Marks thought of words for his songs , he's more than just a accomplished musician he's more of a poet .

The whole Tracker album is amazing. I had a hard time to listen to the other albums in the box set because I always had the Tracker album on the turntable. Silver Eagle is indeed one of those songs you can keep listening on repeat because it is just so dreamy and beautiful.

I love Mark Knopfler playing but l have been trying to emulate this playing ,only now just realising that it’s being played by two acoustic guitars. I have spent hours trying to hear how this melodic tune is played. I should have watched more of Marks playing and not just listened.
I think Mark Knopfler also deserves the nobel prize for literature....
All fans should find how to nominate him, you know he has a degree in Journalism (and possibly literature too) from Leeds University...Wow! What a guy!

He isn't even above providing context like "Piper" was written for his uncle, a piper, who died at Normandy and "Could this be Goodby is for those who called their loved ones from the towers and planes on 9/11. And as a bonus round there are no more infantry pipers in the British army.
