Ok, out of all the informal videos that I’ve looked up regarding forest ranger jobs, or national part jobs, I wish they were more organic like yours. It combines beauty with actual LIFE. The other ones make me feel like I’m going to have to really REALLY be tough on myself to make it into a position. I’m sure you do, I want to go back to college to work in some sort of wildlife career but I like this better.
I did a summer season in yellowstone in 2018 and wooo this video brought back great memories. Anyone that is considering seasonal work I highly encourage you to just do it. You will meet the coolest people and everything she said in this video described my friends out there perfectly. Great video :)
What a wonderful walk down memory lane. I worked in Yellowstone in the summers of 1974 and 1975 (Yes, I am old), and they were the best summers ever! I also fell in love, made life long friends. It's been 50 years (50 years!) and I still keep in touch with several of them still. My hubby and I travelled to Washington state to see one of my friends last summer, and my hubby said we acted like a couple of 20-year-olds. Cherish your time in national parks. Best ever!!
Could you make a video on where you came from , to how you got there and what made you decide to work at that park? I’m from Texas and I’m really interested in working in a park.
I’m just starting college with a passion for national parks and this video was my ABSOLUTE DREAM! I’m so jealous! I feel so lost at how to get started? How did you find this dream job?
it’s super easy to get started!! i worked for a company called Xanterra, you can apply through the link in the description (Dec and Jan is the best time to apply!!) i would also check coolworks.com for a TON of unique park jobs!!!
Really inspiring thank you .. I'm 31 and just now looking to get into a career as a ranger. One step at a time :) seeing you guys so happy really provided me with some encouragement!
I came across this channel while binging Outdoor Guide videos. I am taking my first step into Outdoor Education, this August at a College in VT. You embody what I love in people. I don't know how to explain it but your: (what working in a national park is ACTUALLY like) video sums it up. I hope I have as much fun as you and get to experience this new sense of purpose.
I have a strong connection to nature and having the chance to do something like this would be awesome. Thanks for the video. I hope to visit all of these places and possibly work as a ranger at a park one day!!
I don't know you. I don't know your friends. Hell, I didn't even know about Glacier National Park... But this was a great video that was fun to watch. This is reminiscent of that college experience everyone wants. A bunch of fun, crazy, young people going on adventures and being ridiculously silly when they get bored.
this is so cool man, I wanna work in a national park one day. how hard is it to get a job at one? i'm from new zealand but want to move to the us for this reason
Would bringing a 32’ inch flat screen TV be weird for seasonal work? Does anyone do that?? I got a job and don’t know if I should sell mine or bring it with.
How was the job application process? I want to work at a National Park this summer, I'm from Chicago... Will they pay to fly me out? Really curious haha
The application process wasn’t very difficult!! You can apply at Xanterra.com around January. However, you are responsible for transportation from Chicago to the park :(
hi idk if you still use this account but i am a sophomore in highschool and i was wondering if you need a college degree to become a park ranger? Or if i should try and take a gap year to try and apply for park ranger jobs first? Thank you! ❤️ The video was beautiful btw:)
Hey I am headed out to Glacier for the summer and have a job at Swiftcurrent. I am curious what the employee housing is like in that area? Also if you know anything about how things went last year with covid restrictions would love to know? Very inspiring video btw :)
I have been going to Glacier for a couple of years now (I stayed at swiftcurrent last august for a few days) and I am thinking of applying for an internship in the park (Im 16 yo boy). Do you have any possible information/who to contact/if im even allowed to do this? Thanks (great video btw)
that's awesome! i don't know a lot about internships for minors. maybe look up a volunteer program for high school students? once you turn 18 you can work at any location, restaurant, or hotel though!
@@jeffareyan2197 it's all just a matter of opinion, of course. If towns and restaurants are a big plus for you, the west side is definitely where you'll want to be. But the wilderness is so much more "intense" on the east side. The Many Glacier Valley is often called the heart of the park. The hiking and mountain climbing are world class on the eastern side. Personally, when I was a seasonal worker, I didn't care much about towns and whatnot. I was there to explore the outdoors. Having said all that, the western half of the park is still breathtaking.
wild mountain child Motor inn was such a nice cabin/ hotel Destiination for my family this past summer! i really loved glacier because of the mountains, wildlife and stars. i really loved this video because i want to become a national park ranger in the future
all employees live together and eat in the same company dining room! it's super easy to bond with co-workers and make long-lasting friendships just through living and working in the same remote area
