I remember the first time i saw a victory in X-wing vs Tie fighter, i had no idea what it was and thought it was not only larger but more powerful than a ISD I
I was honestly kind of bummed when Episode 3 came out and they didn't have these in it. It was supposed to be the main Clone Wars era star destroyer after all, but I guess not anymore.
The Victory class supposingly debuted in the Battle of Courisant, so it they had shown the Republic reinforcements, we would have seen them, but we instead followed the Jedi.
Farseer Animation 6.18K subscribers When it comes to many of the different and iconic Star Destroyer designs from Star Wars, I usually have my mixed likes and dislikes for them (Depending of the class and advantages and disadvantages/flaws too). I really really really really like the Victory I-class Star Destroyer, as well as the fearsome, extremely well armed, better armored, and well respected Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer.... as both of these two class of Star Destroyer are in my opinion, awesome, and they BOTH proved to be a much better choices of BEST Star Destroyers than the ill-equipped Imperial I-class Star Destroyer and Imperial II-class Star Destroyers (Which had way too many flaws in their designs).
It sux that Disney already brushed all this aside and declared it no longer cannon. Even if it weren't, everyone who's ever controlled Star Wars always destroys precidents set by previous material.
@@FarseerAnimation True. That's what I meant by "everyone who's ever controlled Star Wars always destroys precedents set by previous material." I'll bet anything this will be the norm no matter who controlls the Star Wars universe in the future. I saw Dark Troopers when my roomate was watching the Mandalorian. It made me happy for a moment, but it's to little to late. Star Wars is dead to me. It died the moment I saw the credits roll on The Phantom Menace.
At 3:18, you commented that 'there was no way the Imperials could patrol the sparser parts of the Galaxy with ships whose massive crews outnumber the very populations of the world's they're trying to secure'. Please think about what you just said. Are you assuming that they post ships into single systems and then they never move? Or, and I'm just spit-balling here, maybe smaller Corvettes and Frigates do the patrolling while the heavies are held in reserve for deployment in task groups as called for. There is a reason why even SciFi universes don't normally show a Capital Ship on Independent Service. They aren't designed for this, resulting in maintenance and fuel costs becoming swiftly prohibitive. Even in Trek, the ENT is always referred to as a 'Cruiser'; a ship meant for long cruises. Despite their size, Star Destroyers - no matter their class - are NOT Cruisers.
I think you're missing the point. Ship classification in Star Wars is very inconsistent and ISDs are often referred to as cruisers. It's also the case that any vehicle besides ISDs are rarely portrayed in media.

If only we saw this thing, ever. It could easily fit in an early Empire show.

The style of this video reminds me a lot of the Colossus cutscene from Freespace 2 (old space sim)
Say "Competitor for the Venator" five times fast.
Fix the engines and it's better than the Venator
the VSD was actually a much better ship for fighting the Alliance. those missiles would tear the X-wings to shreds.
More of a compliment.
@@IronWarhorsesFun Some sources have made it so the Conc missiles are specifically anti-capital ship Assault Concs.
I never heard the VSD had a weaker hull and shield. Just a very different armament.
I LOVE YOU DO BOTH SW AND BATTLETECH! what a unique mix!
I like the music at the beginning. Where is it from?
That’s part of the Tie Fighter soundtrack. I don’t recall exactly which track off the top of my head though.
I still chose to believe the venator's stats are 192 Eta 2s OR 192 V-Wings. Not both.
especially when the eta 2 is just a worse Interceptor than the v wing
What is the music you used here sir?

To be fair, I think this one is on Lucas as it was supposed to be VSD that appeared in Episode 3 in place of the Venator.

What VSD3 has no wings? That's terrible!
