0:03 i put main battery on. 0:53 i set throttle on starting position and 1:35 i turn off the start generator. I am glad you all like, i will add more videos, stay tune! -Antpe
My hands started to sweat when I saw all that wobbling after the first seconds of lift off. Nice video, maybe you could do one where you explain all the stuff you check and do.
BoonieChris that was my second pilot in command lift with that chopper so controlling wasnt so smoothie yet. Before huey i have flew lot of with AS350 and difference between those controlling is big. It get little time to use to it :)
That is so FREAKING awesome. My Dad has been flying since Vietnam ( Huey pilot starting 1970 ) and I have been lucky enough to fly in almost every helicopter you can think of. My favorite is the Huey #1, and the SA-315B Lama #2. This video reminds me of flying with him. Pleas upload more if you can. Check out my channel if you like, I fly the R-22 now, 36 hrs total and will have my private very soon.
Bloody well done mate, thanks for that post, it brings back good memories... and goose bumps. I love the start. I'd love a close up of instruments on start so I can explain a little to others. Well done, and thanks again.
Nice video. Maybe you could help me? I'm looking for a SIC helo job, do you know of any companies hiring for this spot? How many hours do you need for a SIC spot? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.
Nice video. Don't fly myself, but very interested in the Hueys (DCS). Appreciate your sharing the video! Hope you don't mind, have a technical 'start-up' question: What are you looking 'at / for' at 3:06 while you're applying the "Iinc / Decr - Gov" switches on the collective (left side)? Why do you need to adjust the governor settings at that point in the start-up sequence?
You have to check the fuel control using a RPM procedure check when engine have start. Decreasing the RPM using the Gov RPM switch to lower down until 6000 RPM and then increase the collective pitch slowly until the huey is light on the skids without exceeding 94% N1 or torque limit. If all is right according to bell indication decrease to full down the collective pitch and increase via the Gov RPM switch until 6600 RPM. Voila =)
Most Civilian Hueys 204, 205, 212, 214 and Eagle Single get left hand PIC STC’s and Dart provisions for long line operations. Much easier to look down over top of the collective, instead of reaching for it, especially for precision work.
maybe you could help me the emergany govenor on the collective any chance you could tell me how that works ive got dcs world and one mission asks for emrgancy power and i dont know how or what way to press the govenor switch?
I may be wrong on this as I am only a DCS Huey pilot but I think you need to switch off the auto governor (pull to rear position), this releases the maximum clamp on the throttle RPM so you can squeeze a few extra emergency RPM's (for a while anyhow :) Also useful if your trying an overloaded lift off while you bounce it down the strip...
No its a clock timer. There is some limits to start the engine and the time is one of those. The starting button is in collective. And that chopper is real army version :)

You never forget the sound that big bitch makes.
where is the part with the rockets and the burning villages? :(
p.s. great video
He was actually trying to put the Napalm out :-/ Yes that was very cool ride along.
There's the downside to a GoPro. They are so good at stabilizing images that they eliminate the bone shaking vibration that is a UH-1 startup.

なんと言っても2ブレードでの風切音😉4枚ローター機には無い波動が一番と😉ありがとう ジム、サンドラ👒☀
How did you get a cool job like that family business or something?
Bloody well done mate, thanks for that post, it brings back good memories... and goose bumps. I love the start. I'd love a close up of instruments on start so I can explain a little to others. Well done, and thanks again.
There is nothing about helicopters that isnt cool.
Amazing sound. I will listen to this when I go to work experience.
Sweet. many many hours I spent in Hueys. Best helicopter ever
wheres the fortunate son button?
very smooth startup for a huey!!
Ahah!
You're making me Jealous of owning a Huey!
Just 7-8 more years then I can fly a Helicopter! Cheers!
Good video but i HATE gopros... the sound quality is awful

That's why I am here too :)
Where is the starter button on a huey? The underside of the collective?
For what reason would you want to increase or decrese the govoner RPMs.. I'm sure I saw you do that at 3:02 ..
Thanks for sharing this video.
Loved the run up.
Thank you for your reply! Cheers
Great vídeo. Thank You!
Cool. Some vids from outside would be cool.
Beautiful vid, lovely smooth take off, very nice!
Music to my ears. Love love love it
Doesn't the pilot usually fly in the left seat? Are you in India, UK or Australia?
+Max W Helicopter AC always sit right, especially in military birds. The controls for the landing spot and other things are on the right exclusively
+Yankee Rider I know that now that I've started flying! Thanks for the info though.
+Max W good to hear you're following you're getting into it! Special breed of people :)
Bell 47 and MD500 you fly from the left seat. A lot of others is right seat.
Most Civilian Hueys 204, 205, 212, 214 and Eagle Single get left hand PIC STC’s and Dart provisions for long line operations. Much easier to look down over top of the collective, instead of reaching for it, especially for precision work.
Awesome vid!! Thanks for sharing!
Love my Huey’s!
Dual control sticks??
uttaradit2 All UH-1s have dual controls
It's a two pilot ship too!! Only proper safe way to fly BELL205/UH1! Plain aviation truth..😎👍
suave decolagem
Looks like it's Sweden.
whats the bucket for?

Amazing, shows how hard it is to hover, it is a hand work to keep it where you want!
It becomes automatic after awhile. The key is small movements.
Thanks, please post more!
Is that the starter switch on the right side of the instrument panel at 1:08? If so, is this a civilian Bell 205?
No its a clock timer. There is some limits to start the engine and the time is one of those. The starting button is in collective. And that chopper is real army version :)
Et la suite ?
I love Hueys.
Great video
GENIAL
Test
Nice, thanks for upload.
Impressive ...
That looks nothing like the DCS start procedure... makes me sad.. it was supposed to be accurate
perhaps this huey is a little diffrent from the one in DCS, however, many of the things he do are the same.
I like this one much more.. the dcs start seems way watered down compared to this...
DCS procedure is exactly same...
no difference between. I start the huey in DCS with the official bell flight manual and it's perfectly accurate.
Whoa this is cool
My dreams is to fly in a helicopter
Yes, you can. Do it. We are all pilots.
Wow that was pretty awesome, much more fiddling with the throttle than id have thought, whats happening at around 3:14? left thumb?
Thats him testing the governor rpm switch. He is taking the engine and rotor RPM's from just between min and max.
I Set the rotor rpm to flight mode
My favorite bird!!
Sweet!
So the start up engine button is behind collective? Do you have to keep pressing it or just press once?
Depends on the model heli. Most older ones have it there.
Ok, thanks for answering :)
Hwo much this plane?
Its a helicopter
About 5 mil for a Huey
Impressive. You can tell he is mentally going through his preflight. Very good pilot. Also noticed your hand on the kill switch as she winds up.
Do you have a rest of the video? Yours is quite unique because left seat is empty, so all controlls are well visible. That's really rare to see.
Excellent !
