First of all, what Nadal has accomplished goes beyond logic, since after a long lay-off, not having played enough competitive matches, winning a tournament of this category is superlative. And to those who say that Nadal won because Djokovic wasn't there, let's just appreciate the fact that Nadal has been injured for long periods of time during his career. His main rivals won grand slams without him competing. It would be unfair to assume Djokovic is going to win absolutely everything all the time. And he was trounced in the last Us Open final by a brilliant Medvedev, who lost here against Rafa. Whatever happens in tennis you have to accept and embrace as part of the game.
The same thing could have been said about US Open 2020....Novak gets disqualified and Dominic ends up as the winner!
Whatever would/could have happened had Novak been allowed to play in the AO 2022, Nadal's majestic triumph is HISTORIC! This is coming from a totally loyal Novak fan!
