What mic do you use? I also play the flute. I am thinking of starting my own channel. I have a really nice camera. I need a mic and lights. What should I get?
I use an MXL Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone. I really love how well it picks up the whole range of the flute and even the highest range on piccolo without distortion. The exact model I have is an MXL 1006. It's kinda old so they don't make this particular one (I think it's now called a 2006) but it's an amazing microphone for the price! I might write a blog post about it in the near future. For lights, it was recommended to me by a photographer to get a shop light from a hardware store, aim it at the ceiling to diffuse the light and use that. I don't have a great camera but I'm very happy with how using a shop light increased the quality of my videos. I also try to use as much natural light as possible in addition to the shop light. Hope this helps!
