…I also bought the low buck(truck Norris) cam. Having a tough time deciding what one to put in. It’ll be a daily driver/weekend fun truck for me and my wife to drive. Also getting 706 heads and a TBSS with long tube headers. Either would be a fun truck I think.
I think that the 706 headed LQ4 with the Truck Plus cam would be an awesome combo! I thought about going that route but decided to keep the 317’s for now.
@ I hear it’s because the gear is so much different. I currently have a 25 to 2800 stall in the 4L 80 that I have and it’s like a turtle coming off the line.😂 I do agree. any cam upgrade needs a higher stall for sure! there is many variations though. Good video sure 👍🏼
I love your truck I got lucky and found a c3 that I now own I’ve done everything to get this thing running perfect. I really want to start making power now but many people tell me not to cuz “its old or whatever” bcuz it has 425,000 kms but i dont care lol. Where would you suggest to start ?? Thanks again 🙏🙌 love your videos 🙏
The cam has definitely made the biggest performance impact so far. Headers, full exhaust, cold air intake and a good tune is also a good foundation to build on. I don’t think the cam would have made as big of a difference if I didn’t have all of that already in place.
I’ll have to look at my table. Seems like 18 initial and around 23 advanced. If you want, shoot me an email and I’ll send you a screen shot of it. 9linegarage@gmail.com
Awesome info man! I just bought the same cam for my LQ4 that’s going in a 84 C10.

I agree! Grab the stall and let it rip!
LR4 / LM7 Flexplate and a Trailblazer 4200 Converter will give you about 2800 rpm stall and be very driveable.
A stall is the best bang for buck. I got mine long before i had a cam. Its worth it if you get the right one. I have an FTI 4000rpm triple disc
It’s going to make a big difference for sure. This truck pulls hard when it’s in the power band! It will be nice to be able to keep it there!!!
I’ve been told a 3200 RPM stall is the minimum for any LS on a 4l80 transmission
This still has the 4L65 in it for now. The 4L80 conversion will be a little while. It gets a little more complicated since my truck is AWD.

What does your timing look like?

Stock injectors will work
I’m running about 116% duty cycle on my stock injectors right now.
