Pro tip for farming apex resources: go to a shelter, progress time to night and go to any sighting of whatever machine you need. Kill it, call for your mount and run 120m away from the sighting area(just turn around and check for when it's 120m away) then turn around and run back to it. Machine Respawns, always Apex version as long as you do it at night. Doesn't matter what sight, doesn't matter what difficulty, just be there at night, run 120m away to respawn it and repeat
Tryed a lot of time, don't even need to spot them and get away. Just go at night and there's an apex version, kill it and go away (120+m) and it respawn instantly. And u can farm ! :P
I just use fast travel at campfires to go between 2 machine sites when farming apex or machines in general. Idk but i think the loading time is quicker then flying 120m away then another 120m back.
@@quintessenceoflife7870 depend on your version 😂😂 I'm on ps4 flat (which surprisingly work really well in terme of graphics and not that buggy) but the loading time are awfully long. So 120m are faster for ps4 flat users at least 🤔
Regarding volatile sludge. Get the skill that allows you to craft ammo at the workbench for less resources. Only craft volatile sludge ammo at the workbench so you conserve your sludge. You can also buy sludge at vendors.
@@TreeFry it is for the legendary weapons which are the best in the game so of course it wont come easily. You can buy very rare (1 tier below legendary) from vendors if you cant be bothered to hunt for these weapons
I mean, if you don't wanna grind then don't grind ya know? They're putting it behind these walls so it makes you do the tasks/missions. They're not necessary either, strategy is better than a weapon.

The ammo cost for a number of these weapons seems unreasonably high. The only ones that are ok are like the plain arrows for the death seeker bow, 10 metal shards and 5 wood.
@@erickiceboyxxp Death Seeker is the only one that I personally have. But if the electric arrows cost that purple material to make then I'm sure the other weapons do the same. Hell even the green spike thrower weapon you get from the side mission in the daunt has a high ammo cost.

I love how in depth this game is. Honestly.... I just bought whatever I could my first playthrough. I don't think I had a single weapon that wasn't from venders. I didn't even know there were other weapons for completing tasks. I beat the main story and some side stuff. That's how in depth it is. Most people said it didn't have a chance winning goty. It would have been my pick though
My weapons have consisted of hunter bow, sharpshot bow, blastsling, ropecaster, spike thrower, and boltblaster kinda disappointed in the new shredder gauntlet when they announced that new weapon the concept sounded so cool thought I would use it a lot but instead I seem to find every chance I get not to use it trip caster is mainly for traps kinda pointless since you can set actual traps without a weapon and warrior bow is just tommy gun version of the hunter bow and a game that requires shooting parts off or explosions I figured a weaker but faster version of a hunter bow just didnt work well for my play style
Kinda funny how the Ropecaster never saw love in Legendary Form, and Disruptor Arrows and Purgewater Arrows do not come in Legendary form either. All in all, I think Legendary Gear and weapons were a bit of a let down for FW.
Man I've been trying to find a weapon with purgewater ammo for a really long time. They're so rare. The only one I managed to find is a sling with acid, adhesive and purgewater bombs. Could you tell me if there is a bow with purgewater arrows?
Yeah I’ve been looking for a gold legendary or at least a purple rated purgewater bow or boltblaster. Just found out there’s none. It would come in handy especially against the monkey clamberjaws
Literally cheese the arena. Set the difficulty to story (there are no trophies regarding difficulty) and use the explosive spike thrower and blast sling to kill everything super quickly. Then once u have completed every challenge use the medals to buy every legendary. Make sure u have at least 3k+ shards for all the challenge fees.
You forgot to consider that upgraded Powershots refills ammo on top of giving you five free shots. So you can throw all of your Advanced Explosive Spikes, use the Valor Surge, get five free shots and then you have full ammo. This can seriously cut down on your ammo cost if you use it as your go to weapon after an initial stealth snipe shot and applying an elemental debuff.
Personal opinion: I find the legendary weapons to be a little lacking in terms of “legendary” only one I can keep would be the sun scourge. How were everything else seems a little nerfed compared to the very rare counter part. I have these weapons set up for Aloy. This is the best coverage in my opinion on how to survive the forbidden west. HUNTER MARSHEL BOW ( Recieve by using hunting ground medals) -Advanced arrows -Targeting arrows -Berserker arrows Sun Scourge: Receive by doing all rebel camps and killing the leader. -Advanced Frost, Acid, Fire arrows. Skystriker bolt blaster. Received by side quest for valley of the fallen quest. -Ice bolts -Explosive bolts -Peircing bolts. Barrage blasting received by Hunting ground arena medals. -Cluster bombs great for taking out or damaging multiple enemies. - Advanced bomb - Adehesive bomb. Lightening hunter bow received by the quest with talanah. -Electric arrows -Advanced electric arrows. -Purgewater arrows Glowblast sharpshot bow. -Tear blast arrows -Plasma arrows. - Precision arrows. Honestly this is an amazing set up. It really makes aloy an expert machine hunter and killer. She has great coverage and can cover all if not most dangerous situation she will be in.
I got the Purple variant of the spike thrower explosion thing and upgraded it... if you upgrade your Pouch completly, the Arena is so easy, you have 18 of those things and just blow your way through. Has over 300 explosive damage. Sadly you don't get them in the last boss fights.
shredders are actually slightly homing, it goes in the direction you are moving when you fire it and tracks you slightly when it tries to return to you, so move in one straight line to make it effective or dodge to make it easier

So, I maxed out my Death Seeker bow just now, loaded it up with a bunch of Critical Chance coils, and with the overdraw capabilities, any hit on a weak spot makes it a damage machine. But because a few other legendary weapons require Stormbird Stormcannons to upgrade, it puts my maxed out legendary equipment on hold for a bit.
It seems like upgrading isn't worth the grind. There's so much to do in the game, and killing machines over and over just to kill them faster doesn't seem worth it.
The thing that I’m realizing is the not many people use the ice storm bolt blaster for damage, for example I defeated specter prime (the final bos of the game) using the plasma bolts of this weapon, another example is how I use it to defeat fireclaws using the ice bolts. Just my opinion btw so pls don’t start a war over this 😅
The Skykiller is great for the arena but i use the the very rare one that has adv explosion, fire and DRILLS spears. It does damage over time plus great to tear parts off. Personally i only use the sun scroched hunter bow the others are very rares. Mostly due to bad ammo types or bad perks. The leg. tripcaster stinks. Damage over time on a weapon that has NO damage over time ammo
I don't know but boltblaster legendary with ranged damage and crit chance coils absolutely melts big machines. I stacked sun scourge with frost and brittle % so just hit with that and then swap it out it's great
I don’t get why so many of these things have double of the same elemental effect. This spike thrower for example, instead of two Explosive types, just give us one and change the other into something like Acid or Freeze. Another example would be one of the Sharpshooter bows, it’s got the advanced precision arrow and TWO PLASMA arrows! I don’t know about you guys but I would have preferred to have one of those Plasmas switched out for something like Precision Tear arrows, those new Beserker Arrows or even a Chillwater arrow. The fact is that we really don’t need double of the same effects on one weapon.
I can't speak for difficulties above Normal, but at normal or below explosive spikes and explosive bombs from a blast sling are just TOPS. I've killed more machines with these weapons than anything else. Usually you just have to weaken the machine first with whatever elemental type it's weak against, then once it's drenched pull out your explosive spikes or bombs and with just a couple well placed shots, that thing is down.
The playstyle of using overwritten monsters is a lot better than people think since it takes one off your radar and you can also upgrade the overwrite ability in the skill tree so you can make them more robust and hardy and then the special mode i believe can give more time and bonuses. But i dont overwrite machines too much.
The two best legendary weapons are the carja's bane (warrior bow)and the forgefall (sharpshot bow ) for big machines . I took down a dreadwing within 20 seconds by hitting it with advanced plasma arrows and rapid firing small arrows in carja's bane
The skykiller really is op but you’re right that you should save it for big enemies as the ammo is expensive. Also I’d say that the regalla’s wrath sharpshot bow is better as it does more damage
surprised you didn't talk about braced shot. its my go to weapon and it deals major damage from far away. you can use two back to back once you have advanced your stats.
@@mushrookai i try and equip anything that refills my weapon stamina faster. i think there are a couple of costumes weaves that allow that. don't remember if there are weapons with those perks. at the end i had to wait very little to use big attacks.
@@smurfx I've fully maxed out the hunter and warrior skill trees and I can only use one braced shot at a time. Maybe it has to do with an outfit, yeah.
about Apex variant machines. They spawn more often at night, at regular machine spawn. So for example, an Apex Tremortusk spawns at Tremortusk location on map.

Where do you get a better spear? I’ve got 2/3 of the main story “parts” and haven’t seen any other spears yet. Just my starting one and pre-order bonus one.
It’s too bad none of these use Purgewater ammo. Also, you forgot the legendary warrior bow. That one you get from completing the race tracks. You also get to meet a returning character from the first game in one of the tracks. Hint: He/she is a Carja.
Most of the weapons can be given by doing side missions that’s how I got mine. Downside to these is that having to wait till end game to get most Of the and the perks which would had helped during the game.
Really wanted the bow you get from the rebel camps, but I won't be allowed to have it because 2 of the camps I completed are glitched for me. I've cleared them multiple times and it never actually registers. At one point one of the 2 did say "completed" but the dialogue would return to the same as when I first arrived there and once "complete". The quest line is broken for me (and those campfires), and I'm not going back maybe 40 hours of play to fix it.

As someone who spams rope against Stormbirds I wish there was a Legendary Ropecaster. But TBH, I wouldn't even know what secondary abilities to give it. Not to mention coils and which canister ropes to put on it.
There’s no legendary rope caster variant but I didn’t find myself using the rope caster much during the game anyway. Maybe they will add one by the time ng+ comes out

Just finished it on very hard and I mainly used a blue hunter slicing bow because the Arrows are cheap and still great when triple knocked, the more advanced Arrows aren't really worth the costs IMO The only legandary I really used was the sky killer spike thrower with the powershots valor surge, it still melts an apex thunderjaw if you place the shots well OFC
I love how they have legendary weapons but don’t have new game plus while I am enjoying the game I was disappointed that it does not have it ngp should be the new norm for when you finish the game but that said all in all great game and keep up the vids!!!
What's the point in playing through a game, when there's no reward at the end? NGP has it's place in games, but with games that have unique weapons, it doesn't work.

I wish I could get the sun scourge, but the rebel camp called "Devil's Grasp" glitched out for me and all the troops stationed there are gone and I can't progress in that area anymore. Sucks, but other than that it's an amazing game and I've played for over 35 hours now.

The Shredder Gauntlet is my favorite weapon it does take skills to use it. And plus I love using the weapon it's similar like the disc launcher what you can get on the Thunder jar
I have a problem. I think I may have sold the shock warrior bow you get at the Daunt hunting grounds. I can't trigger the overload of the power cells with any of my shock ammo weapons. Any advice is appreciated.

Really like how a lot of them are locked behind collectibles or 100% a certain task. Forces you to explore the game more if you want the best gear

Death seeker will be my favourite I think, I pretty much just stick with the classic hunter bow most of the time

I honestly use the spear most… stealth kills. But IF I’m using a bow, 99% chance it’s a hunter lol.
Only thing bad about the death seeker bow is really low damage for a legendary. Most of the purple bows outdamage death seeker by a noticable amount.

There is a legendary for purgewater, it's only unlockable in New game+ though
The side missions are so much better than HZD. I barely got into the story cuz I'm going around doing the side stuff

Very Rare Delta Sharpshot Bow. Nuff said. I prefer it over the deathseeker. Impact damage coil on all 3 slots. Deals great damage.

Honestly this is an amazing set up. It really makes aloy an expert machine hunter and killer. She has great coverage and can cover all if not most dangerous situation she will be in.
I got the Purple variant of the spike thrower explosion thing and upgraded it... if you upgrade your Pouch completly, the Arena is so easy, you have 18 of those things and just blow your way through. Has over 300 explosive damage. Sadly you don't get them in the last boss fights.
I have been enjoying the spike throwers, a great new weapon type, completed the main story but not gone into all the others content, great vid !
shredders are actually slightly homing, it goes in the direction you are moving when you fire it and tracks you slightly when it tries to return to you, so move in one straight line to make it effective or dodge to make it easier

So, I maxed out my Death Seeker bow just now, loaded it up with a bunch of Critical Chance coils, and with the overdraw capabilities, any hit on a weak spot makes it a damage machine. But because a few other legendary weapons require Stormbird Stormcannons to upgrade, it puts my maxed out legendary equipment on hold for a bit.
It seems like upgrading isn't worth the grind. There's so much to do in the game, and killing machines over and over just to kill them faster doesn't seem worth it.
My favorite main weapons are the hunter bows and precision bows so far.
Legendary weapons are cool, but they are so hard to upgrade. IMO, a fully upgraded purple is better than a gold you can only get to level 3.
I had to set the difficulty to story. Upgrading in this game gets repetitive imo.
The thing that I’m realizing is the not many people use the ice storm bolt blaster for damage, for example I defeated specter prime (the final bos of the game) using the plasma bolts of this weapon, another example is how I use it to defeat fireclaws using the ice bolts. Just my opinion btw so pls don’t start a war over this 😅
I agree this weapon is better than the legendary the plasma bolt blaster is so effective especially against stormbirds and snakes
The Skykiller is great for the arena but i use the the very rare one that has adv explosion, fire and DRILLS spears. It does damage over time plus great to tear parts off. Personally i only use the sun scroched hunter bow the others are very rares. Mostly due to bad ammo types or bad perks. The leg. tripcaster stinks. Damage over time on a weapon that has NO damage over time ammo

I don't know but boltblaster legendary with ranged damage and crit chance coils absolutely melts big machines. I stacked sun scourge with frost and brittle % so just hit with that and then swap it out it's great
I don’t get why so many of these things have double of the same elemental effect. This spike thrower for example, instead of two Explosive types, just give us one and change the other into something like Acid or Freeze. Another example would be one of the Sharpshooter bows, it’s got the advanced precision arrow and TWO PLASMA arrows! I don’t know about you guys but I would have preferred to have one of those Plasmas switched out for something like Precision Tear arrows, those new Beserker Arrows or even a Chillwater arrow. The fact is that we really don’t need double of the same effects on one weapon.

Wow that override bow/arrows seems like it will be super useful on "very hard".
I wish the boltblaster had a bit more range. But it still comes handy when fighting aggressive enemies
I can't speak for difficulties above Normal, but at normal or below explosive spikes and explosive bombs from a blast sling are just TOPS. I've killed more machines with these weapons than anything else. Usually you just have to weaken the machine first with whatever elemental type it's weak against, then once it's drenched pull out your explosive spikes or bombs and with just a couple well placed shots, that thing is down.
The playstyle of using overwritten monsters is a lot better than people think since it takes one off your radar and you can also upgrade the overwrite ability in the skill tree so you can make them more robust and hardy and then the special mode i believe can give more time and bonuses. But i dont overwrite machines too much.
The two best legendary weapons are the carja's bane (warrior bow)and the forgefall (sharpshot bow ) for big machines . I took down a dreadwing within 20 seconds by hitting it with advanced plasma arrows and rapid firing small arrows in carja's bane
The Forgefall needs purgewater ammo as well as plasma, instead of 2 different plasma ammunitions
The skykiller really is op but you’re right that you should save it for big enemies as the ammo is expensive.
Also I’d say that the regalla’s wrath sharpshot bow is better as it does more damage
surprised you didn't talk about braced shot. its my go to weapon and it deals major damage from far away. you can use two back to back once you have advanced your stats.
What stats do you need to advance to use less energy per ability?
@@mushrookai i try and equip anything that refills my weapon stamina faster. i think there are a couple of costumes weaves that allow that. don't remember if there are weapons with those perks. at the end i had to wait very little to use big attacks.
@@smurfx I've fully maxed out the hunter and warrior skill trees and I can only use one braced shot at a time. Maybe it has to do with an outfit, yeah.
@@mushrooka when i fully recharge my weapon stamina i can always get off 2 braced shots before having to wait again.

about Apex variant machines. They spawn more often at night, at regular machine spawn.
So for example, an Apex Tremortusk spawns at Tremortusk location on map.
This game is like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla mixed with Shadow of the Tomb Raider. If Lara Croft had a sister she would definitely be Aloy.

The last race unlocks when you beat the 3rd race
I just finished the first game and seeing the rewards for collecting are actually worth it is nice. I don't have to spend an hour to get a crate with chill water and sticks 😂😂

Man that sharpshot bow +the ranged valor ability and braced shot must be insane.
It’s too bad none of these use Purgewater ammo. Also, you forgot the legendary warrior bow. That one you get from completing the race tracks. You also get to meet a returning character from the first game in one of the tracks. Hint: He/she is a Carja.

Most of the weapons can be given by doing side missions that’s how I got mine. Downside to these is that having to wait till end game to get most Of the and the perks which would had helped during the game.
Legendary weapons arent a new rarity tier in Horizon Forbidden West. That tier was available in Zero Dawn hunting grounds aswell.

In the first game, my favorite way to kill a thunderjaw was to freeze it and then just spam sticky bombs.
If you just did the final mission, why do you need the bow?
Really wanted the bow you get from the rebel camps, but I won't be allowed to have it because 2 of the camps I completed are glitched for me. I've cleared them multiple times and it never actually registers. At one point one of the 2 did say "completed" but the dialogue would return to the same as when I first arrived there and once "complete". The quest line is broken for me (and those campfires), and I'm not going back maybe 40 hours of play to fix it.
Are canister ropecaster any usefull...bougth one...like regular ropecasters more....easy for tying machine and then tearing parts off

As someone who spams rope against Stormbirds I wish there was a Legendary Ropecaster. But TBH, I wouldn't even know what secondary abilities to give it. Not to mention coils and which canister ropes to put on it.
There’s no legendary rope caster variant but I didn’t find myself using the rope caster much during the game anyway. Maybe they will add one by the time ng+ comes out

Just finished it on very hard and I mainly used a blue hunter slicing bow because the Arrows are cheap and still great when triple knocked, the more advanced Arrows aren't really worth the costs IMO
The only legandary I really used was the sky killer spike thrower with the powershots valor surge, it still melts an apex thunderjaw if you place the shots well OFC
How close do you have to be to use a warrior bow? I wasn't very far and the arrow wasn't even hitting where I had my reticle.

I think I will tryhard for the hunter bows they're literally amazing. They're just taking 2 slots and boom you have almost every element to attack
Sadly, the sharp shooter bow don't have Detach Arrow on it, instead having the plasma which make farm alot harder.

I love how they have legendary weapons but don’t have new game plus while I am enjoying the game I was disappointed that it does not have it ngp should be the new norm for when you finish the game but that said all in all great game and keep up the vids!!!
What's the point in playing through a game, when there's no reward at the end? NGP has it's place in games, but with games that have unique weapons, it doesn't work.
Relax yall the game just came out. Enjoy it, don't blitz through it. Ng+ will co.e out eventually. This is like the 5th time I've seen this comment about ng+ people can never just be happy with what they have always want more like....right of way I want it now type attitude.

I wish I could get the sun scourge, but the rebel camp called "Devil's Grasp" glitched out for me and all the troops stationed there are gone and I can't progress in that area anymore. Sucks, but other than that it's an amazing game and I've played for over 35 hours now.

The Shredder Gauntlet is my favorite weapon it does take skills to use it. And plus I love using the weapon it's similar like the disc launcher what you can get on the Thunder jar
I have a problem. I think I may have sold the shock warrior bow you get at the Daunt hunting grounds. I can't trigger the overload of the power cells with any of my shock ammo weapons. Any advice is appreciated.
Never mind I was able to complete it without the shock warrior bow.

@@menatol I don’t think Nicholas wants to waste time and resources on weapons that are not worth upgrading. He wants to go to the missions that are worth his while. Many people want to know this including myself. Do not tear others down, only build them up 👍🏼

You said all types has a legendary weapon except the hunter bow, however, the first weapon you mentioned in your list is a hunter bow.
I'm having trouble turning in the lost supplies quest for Keruf's Salvage. It won't turn in at all and doesn't even give a prompt when I talk to Runda. Does anyone know what to do?
