Thanks Frank. Thanks Tobin. I love the sound of running streams or rivers with dogs talking to me . Its the sound of freedom and happiness. Stay blessed
Great shave that doesn't sound much like a scent for me but you never know until you try it I"ve had some before that I was like nope and once I smelled it was like well wait this is pretty good. Thanks Frank.
Love your McKenzie River shaves. I like your comment on preshave "needed no, preferred yes", reflects my feelings on preshave soaps/creams (but don't like oils) that I use 99% of the time.👌🤠👌
Thank you, sir! I'm tempted to go back for my next shave. I've never been a fan of the oils, I've tried to like them but haven't found one yet that works for me. Have a great weekend Lawrie!
I just turned 60 this summer... the last year of the Baby Boomers. When I was in HS, I used to wear Pierre Cardin (in the phallic shaped bottle). In college, I graduated to the original Polo (in the green bottle). I basically stopped wearing cologne when my wife, then gf, developed allergies to them. Certain ones give her splitting headaches almost immediately... especially ones with a musk scent. Great shave! I love these outdoor shaves in and around the river. What a treasure to enjoy the National Forest on such a regular basis. We have a Border Collie/Shepherd mix, and she is very vocal, too. #Thanks, Frank!
@Tobins_throwbacks For decades I didn't wear any cologne. Since starting my traditional wet shaving journey,I have been trying shave soaps with scents I think would not affect my wife. I bought a lot of samples from Stirling to start. Some I didn't like and some she hated. However, the nice thing with Stirling is the scent doesn't last long. I mostly have citrus scents, Eucalyptus and Mint, and Coniferous. I bought a bunch of PAA sample scents. My wife did not like any of the bay rums and the same with many others. Our dog's name is Latke. She is a rescue. We've had her for 10.5 years. She is really showing her age now.
I Like this location by the river. It’s a beautiful spot. Your dogs look like they’re having a great time. Great review and shave! That soap label looks really cool. Thank you for the sticker and congratulations to all the winners, have a great week Tobin! #ThanksFrank
Finished watching the video brother and definitely will pick up that set (with the edp). I am a Taurus (zodiac sign) and Chaps was one of my first colognes back in the 80s. My first girlfriend loved it and you felt like a real "bad ass" back then! The razor is a Gem also, love the prismatic (hope I did not exchange it for another PAA razor a year ago).
Hey Tobin! A lot of reviews on chaps compare the scent to stetson cologne. My wife, my 2 daughters and myself really like stetson. I love the label, living on a farm with a milk cow, a couple hogs, some chicken's, and 1 bull named Bear. We love spending time in the high Uinta National Forest here in the Rockies! Great shave on the river! #thanksfrank
Definitely in the same vein as Stetson but this is 10 times better. I'm not crazy about the Stetson that's on the market today. That's awesome Nathan, I had no idea that you were on a farm with some livestock. That's awesome! Have a great week!
Nice Throwbacks logo in the intro. That is an awesome label. What a great location to be close to. Im not big on the old musky scents, but might have to get the sample to try. Have a great week
Thanks Mike! They are fun to make. We're so fortunate to have the McKenzie. If we retire here we want to build a house on it. It's definitely worth grabbing a sample with your next order. It may surprise you. Have a good one!
The majority of the time I watch UA-cam on my phone. But I recently discovered that your outdoor shaves are best when watched on the "big screen" (t.v)😊
Beautiful location. The dogs look great. If I remember right, Chaps was a good one. Funny, my wife basically hates everything, but she loves Stirling's Black Ice, which is straight up black licorice. #thanksFrank
Very good Tobin! Well, I guessed that, but I thought I might be wrong-lol! It shows you how much I keep track of soaps that come out, because I didn't know about this one. Definitely a classic scent and I do remember this from back in the day because it was all over. I probably would have used it, but I already had a scent Mexicaly Musk. I've always been a person that would have only one scent, kind of like my signature scent, so it is a little different being in the hobby with tons of scents always coming out. I have expanded what I wear some, but it's still only a handful that I use regularly and most of those are odd ones. People do remember me for those odd ones for sure. Thanks Frankshaving for making such a great giveaway possible! #frankshaving Take care bro!
Thanks, Ian! Yeah, Chaps was everywhere here in the mid-80s. My brother who is 9 years older than I wore it all the time. You'll have to send me a Pic of your fragrances sometime. Have a good one!
Tobin, Luna is hysterical! That bark of desperation and hope all for playing fetch in the river.😂 That river is so beautiful. People here don't have to travel outside the U.S. to enjoy the sites. There are so many great places right here. Also THANKS FRANK ! I picked up 2 synthetics from Franks Shaving about a month ago based on one of your videos and they are great! 🙂👊
I love her! So much! And you are so right! These people ask me what country I would travel to and I'm like what do you mean what state? I have little desire to actually leave this country lol we have it ALL Have a good one!
@@Tobins_throwbacks Must admit I always enjoy being out around water with the dogs etc. My 2 are called Cali(fornia) and Reba, litter sisters, and have also got a Rottweiler named Xula, a Doberman named Rena and a Jack Russell called Ellie. Totally agree, GSD's are the best 🙂 Have a great weekend 🕉
@fuzz7263 I'd love to have 5 dogs! After Emily grows her wings and moves out I want to get one or two more. The wife will be the only thing keeping me from getting more lol. Great names and breeds! I had a Rottweiler in my early 20s one of the best pups EVER! I'd love to have a Doberman one day too. 🙏
Great shave Tobin, I have Luna coming and also ordered pine and pepper from Elysian it’s a banger as well, and best packaging of any amazing! I know that’s amazing as well. Too many soaps so little shaves. I just ordered Cad right before they released that dangit! Thanks Frank!
I love that location! Wish I had a place like that to go to on weekends. So much nicer than the mud holes and creeks around here. #ThanksFrank for your generosity. I just received my new Manchurian brush from Frank on Friday, and got to try it last night - love it! Tobin, I will send you an email regarding the sticker.
@@Tobins_throwbacks hey Tobin, yes I did use the discount, and it did work. Took an additional 20% off a brush that was already marked down on the site. Hope you have a great week also!

Great shave that doesn't sound much like a scent for me but you never know until you try it I"ve had some before that I was like nope and once I smelled it was like well wait this is pretty good. Thanks Frank.
It's definitely worth grabbing a sample. It should be around for awhile.

For your merchandise I think they would look cooler if your logo had a transparent background and maybe a thin white border around it.

Yes sir! Love that one in colder weather!
I have always felt Chaps to be an unusual name for a fragrance. If it were British, I might understand.
Lol it's because of the Chaps cowboys wore. But, Inagree.
Alexis? Do you perhaps give this one a 5 due to the nostalgia value of it?
She said because it's musky buy a little modern and her dad wore it
