Man these guys are really connected to the deep dark ghostly South… They have done their homework and then some. Much love to the best band out there today.
@@kjgray7771 hell yea man, I was about two years ago. But this band is fucking fantastic. If you chill with Mary, Lucy, or demetri, this band is a must.
Well....one more fantastic song by a band that has NO bad songs. No filler bullshit. I mean...I can listen to every single one back to back without skipping 1 track. Amazing!!

I've grown to absolutely adore being able to hear that door close from 1:35 to 1:43, it gives you this incredible sense of the room, and as I've learned going to studios myself and learning how all this music stuff works, I now know that that was captured at various different levels by every single mic that was used for the recording, and that's precisely why it's such a vivid and detailed sound, it shows just how well this song was recorded and mastered, and I look at it like a cool easter egg that pulls back the curtain on music production. Saw this in another comment's replies as well, "During that intro guitar, it was totally accidental, but someone is walking up the stairs to the control room and they’re trying to be as quiet as they can to close the door, but you can still hear the door close,” reveals McLeod. “The take was too good to do it again, and it kind of captures the studio for the listener." Gotta find where that quote is from now.

Dope, sounds more like their second album but still unique. I've been listening to these guys for 8 years, they've done something different every album and it's worked every time.
Idk, I definitely don't hear any lightning at the door in this song at all. I love LATD but everything they do is great. I can't wait to hear the whole album
feliz por estar nessa vida no mesmo tempo que esses caras e poder acompanhar os trabalhos ! sensacional ! uma das minhas bandas preferidas na cena stoner rock também... sem duvidas essa banda é lendária !
When that clean guitar starts in the beginning, that's some of the coolest tone I've ever heard. Can anyone tell me is that just his Twin Reverb cranked and driven hard with his Les Paul? Sounds magical.
From what I've seen when they recorded at Abbey Road they were all using Hiwatt stuff. Could be a Hiwatt or maybe a cleaner amp the studio had. He also has that knaggs and that intro tone kinda sounds like single coils. Could be wrong though!
He explained some of the tones for the new album with a video he did with Hiwatt at abbey road. I’m gonna say it’s either the hiwatt combo sitting sidewards or the princeton reverb on top of it.
Another absolute belter from ATW, almost tool-esque at points and I'm sure you can hear a little of the psychodilc beatles sound in there as well, must have been Abbey Road rubbing off on them.

ATW are the most important contemporary band to me, up there with The Beatles and Radiohead for their sonic explorations, and the spiritual successors to Led Zep.
Saturnine is the name of a quite obscure Smashing Pumpkins song from Machina II circa 2000, I wonder if they were/that song was, an inspiration? Maybe not sonically, its quite different, but the theme and vibe is there. \m/\m/
Iron jaw is a tough circus act, saturnine means gloomy. Maybe parks saying he is a bit gloomy they are not getting the recognition they deserve. Regardless tho, they will go down music history as one of the greats. No doubt
Jesus their backs must hurt from carrying the music scene
Them and King Buffalo
:D
It's sad how few good bands are out there. All they have to do is copy this sound and that's still too difficult for them.
Nailed it
Best comment ever!
Man these guys are really connected to the deep dark ghostly South… They have done their homework and then some. Much love to the best band out there today.
This sound is so addictive I can't stop listening.
These guys are already up there between the all-time greats and are acheiving a height of their own.
My favorite band right now. No contest.
No contest indeed
Can't wait for the KEXP session of these tracks .. yummy
ikr, kexp somehow makes great songs sound even better a lot of the time
Dude this shit slaps I keep coming back for more. Found this track and band about a year ago

@@brandofield1280 as someone who experienced all three I concur!
Would be so sick for them to play the whole album all the way through on KEXP .

Lean & mean like a saturnine machine.
same here brother.. going on 4 years, theyve truly captured something amazing
Ditto. Every album … every song!

Back in the way we came out.

the most consistent band alive with not a bad album or song. Abbey road making u boys sound crispyyyyy
That's some tasty groove. When it hits your ears, it's SO GOOD.
Every time when you think it can't get better they drop another precious piece ...

Yesss we all needed this 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽❤️
My favorite moment in this song is at 1.38 when the creepy doors open and close. Gets me everytime.

Was testing my brand new headphones and WOW I thought a door appeared off in the left wall haha.

awesome
Whoaaaaaaa yess this is it right here boiiii
yeah. atw brings the cure, alright. if we could only get this into the right ears and minds....
Good for a chilly, foggy night, or as the music in the theatre before a particularly bloody production of Macbeth . . .
Ah common use cases then.
Your music is the soundtrack to my consciousness floating through salvia space
Damn, these guys always nail it! That track is out of this world.
Never heard this band before, but after listening to this, I will check out more tunes.
Check them out live on kexp. Their two sets are amazing
Same...what a gem 😎👌
Their album “lighting at the door” is astonishing. Also I love their track “Open Passageways”. But their whole back catalogue is incredible.
For maximum satisfaction, google the discography, listen to it chronologically, witness the epitome of evolution
Hell yes
This is fantastic
Good to see you back guys ! Great song, can't wait for the album too ! Sheers from France
Bonjour !

Bravo! Been needing ATW like this for some time. Made my week.

Too many shiny little stars in a flower
As usual great work. All these backround sounds at the the beggining and the end make it even better.
Wow...
Amazing fucken band !!
this band is like radiohead in that it's not really a song more like a collection of sounds that go epically together
Heavy and groovy as fuck, right on point!! Not the generic and cliche stoner rock around there...there's a true gem inside this.
This is one of the best songs ever created. You can feel the mysteries of the universe is you try hard enough.
So exciting. YES.
1:37 my preferred start
Great stuff boys
Keep it up with the good work!🤘🏻

I actually had an opportunity to ask Ben myself. He told me it was a Princeton Reverb through the Hiwatt cabinet with his BD-2, I believe.
