- Our sons absolutely love outer space. Many people on the spectrum have strong interests that can become obsessions. This also makes them valuable in future work settings where laser focus can be required, but for today, it's about fun.

First!! Please pin this btw i love this space costumes tho it would have been cool if Ian wore a costume too. But some years ago you posted a video of Connor and Ian playing Minecraft and Zelda are you going to post more gaming videos? I would love if you would do this
Connor reminds me of myself when I was younger. I also have autism, formerly Aspergers (asparagus-and-burgers as Connor would say). I have a special interest for space, and also for animation. I have created my own fictional solar system called 'The Juicy Way,' instead of The Milky Way. I have created many animations about The Juicy Way and its alien inhabitants, but I am very private about my creations so I keep them to myself. Thank you for writing about the positive aspects of autism in the workplace in the description of the video. Most managers don't understand the positive aspects that I bring to the workplace. I struggle at work because of all the social games I need to play. I had one job in the past where for the most part my manager let me do things my way and I was incredibly productive and happy, but unfortunately Covid made the business fail. Now I am back at a job where the rules are more strict and I am more drained from it. I am working on building my own business so I can do things by my own rules. Please keep an eye on Connor's masking. I used to mask a lot more (now I am more aware of when I am doing it and can do it deliberately when I think it is necessary) and it caused me serious burnout as a young adult. Your boys are very lucky to have you as their Dad. My parents are loving but they do not understand autism like you do.
Asperger is no longer a diagnosis
Correct. Hence why I used the word ‘formerly.’ When I was diagnosed, ‘Asperger’s’ was still a distinction made in diagnosis. Now I simply refer to myself as autistic. Some people, despite the complicated history of the label, still like to describe themselves as Asperger’s, and I believe they should have the right to do so if they wish.
I am on the spectrum, and my twin sister (also on the spectrum) and I just went to space Kennedy center to fulfill our hyperfixation needs (we live no where near Florida but made it work) and let me tell you space stuff is so magical. I used their autism pass, took notice of their sensory signs, and just enjoyed myself. I also went back a second day with her (both times with our grandparents to help us out) and we got to explore more and bought more stuff. It’s truly magical how blissful a space adventure can be, glad they got it too.
I’m sure your son Connor will enjoy this special space event and remember it for many years to come. Alester also enjoying himself to, Ian maybe the oldest brother and he is having a good time being with his brothers. Your boys will have many memories of space center, because even though they are huge space fans the experience they had today was incredible for them and their never going to forget the good time they spent together with their dad at the space center.😊😊😊
Connor, you can 100% be a astronaut or anything else you put your mind 2 dude. Nothings impossible & if that's what you love all it rakes is determination & a lil hardworking my guy. Never give up on your dreams sweet boy!!
2:09 happy stimming alert 😍
The boys seem 2 be really enjoying this place. They seem 2 already know alot about space & must love it by the looks of there outfits. I think it's great, these kids sure have grown alot over the past few years 4 sure..
I’m a total space nerd. You’ve got to bring them to cape canaveral for a rocket launch, to see the rocket garden, and to meet a real astronaut. For cape canaveral, we can see the launches all the way from the other coast of Florida, literally. We live in Cape Coral and can watch the launches from Cape Canaveral. There is….nothing like seeing and FEELING a rocket launch.
Captains: Ian, Alistair and Connor, 🫡 missions achieved!!! This is Ground control. Commander Dad, nice job!!!!
❤I love it! Your sons are super smart! I loved the way you tell your kids they can have dreams! And of course! They can do anything they want in life!!
Come on everyone, be sure 2 give them a thumbs-up & hit the like button. These kids have earned it!!!
That looked like so much fun. How stimulated your sons were by all that wonderful science, feeding their inquiring minds, so thirsty for knowledge. Great to see. I like how you interact with your children, you're a great father - they're so lucky to have you! Please treasure yourselves & each other!
Wow what a super place, I’m not overly interested in space stuff, but I’d love to go there. Great to see the boys enjoying it so much
Watch how they love space, it is so enthusiastic
I am deaf and ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder). If anyone who love in the space, I would recommend watching any "Star Trek" TV Series. I prefer to watch the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Star Trek: Voyager". Those series are giving me to be relax time for many hours, feel that I am traveling in the space and am meeting new extraterrestrials. If you want to watch the Star Trek movies, they can help you to feel this way, too. My favorite Star Trek Movie is "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home". Also, I have visited the "Space Kennedy Center" in 2004. I brought the one-day ticket for museum and access NASA propriety, but the ticketing service gave two-day ticket to me. Have an enjoy being involving in the space.
This has to be a dream come true for them
It looks like boys loved it. Wonderful video and place worth to seeing :)

Love this u when is the morning routine video coming ❤️
I actually have four main special interests (but other small interests): Studio C, Doctor Who, Dogs, and also space!
Last year, I had the privilege to go to the Meteor Crater in Arizona. We got to touch the largest piece of meteorite ever found and walk around the top of the crater until a storm started threatening to join the tour. (By the way, does anyone agree with me that the name Meteor Crater makes no sense? It's a crater created by a meteorite.) Anyway, I am now a proud owner of a small piece of a meteorite.😁
That was also the day after I had a tour of BYU Broadcasting which is where Studio C is filmed. The tour guide was so impressed by how much I knew she took me where people don't usually go (A secret Writer's Room for the writers of Studio C!) and gave me free merchandise. The funny thing is, I was worried I was going to miss Studio C's new episode coming out live that day and I did... Because I went to where it was filmed!
My biggest dream is to write and maybe be a producer for Studio C and I actually got an opportunity to apply for a writer's position but didn't end up getting the job, most likely because I'm still a minor. But there is a small chance they will use the scripts I sent them so I still have hope for season 17. And I'm not giving up on my dream yet.
Don't give up your dream of becoming an astronaut, Conner. It will be hard but you can do it!
My kids like Studio C too 😉👍
@@AutismFamilyChannel I had to stim for a few minutes before answering.😁
That's so cool! Do they have any favorite sketches? Mine is Doctor Who (Tenth Doctor Deleted Scene) because I am a Whovian. But my favorite episode is Season 12 Episode 1.
I got to meet Jason Gray a few years ago (best day of my life) when he came down to Arizona (where I live) to promote his first feature film, Funny Thing About Love. You guys are so lucky to live so close to where it is filmed.
@@josettejoy6003 the love the “small house” skit lately, they think it’s funny how crammed everyone is in the outhouse 😂
@@AutismFamilyChannel That one is so great! My favorite character was the grandpa.🤣
@@josettejoy6003 “I need to use the oven!”
I'm on the spectrum and just like how they love space, I love chemistry and and dinosaurs. I've loved dinosaurs ever since I learned about them in kindergarten, and I've been obsessed with them since then. About 12 years. And I've loved chemistry since I was in the 3rd grade and we learned the chemical reactions that happen when baking a cake.
Come to think of this,I am STILL an Aerospace Leader. And of course,my membership in Civil Air Patrol is going to be a teenager by 10 Jun,of this year. We cover this stuff,in this video. I had even participated in activities shown in the video.

I am someone on the spectrum who absolutely loves being creative such as creative cooking or building things in Minecraft similar to how Adam in the movie "Adam" is a man on the spectrum who absolutely loves outer space. Since I am a really talented cook, my goal is to publish my own cook books.
This is so cool and awesome, wish we had these in Canada lol boring here lol. I hope one day to visit the USA and go to see Abraham Lincoln monument and all the Smithsonian museums. Thank you so much
For sure. Canada has some amazing national parks though ;)
@@AutismFamilyChannel yes but not as many and we have the science centre and the aquarium and the museum that hasn’t changed since I was a kid I’m 55 lol.
@@elizabethkusce2718 I see
Fantastic 🤣🥰😁🎈🔨👀🏝️🎻
Just a quick question, How common is Hypermobility in Autistic Patients?
I love space to the only reason I’m not gonna be an astronaut when I grow up is because I’m scared I’m staying in space forever and getting lost.😢
I like some space stuff
Ooww, tão lindos de astronauta! 😻☺️😍🤩🥰😘🛐😊❤️💕
I'm interested in planets and space.
With me being autistic, I have a creative mind and always fascinated myself with going to space and that is one goal however, I would prefer using my knowledge to make my own rocket suborbital rocket that can reach, at least the Carmen line with some little payload on a model rocket scale which has been done before. It is a feat to accomplish in my backyard I have done some testing and stuff another rocket testing that is progressing towards that goal autism have their own special abilities and honestly most people that are autistic, have creative minds, and do change things for the better. A good example of this would be more than likely Elon Musk, which does exhibit some forms of a higher functioning odds as a level as I look up to Elon, I do find myself acting just like him in a good way.
Hello to Ian Connor aleister did he get his flannel back
