Classic lullaby song created by childrens author Astrid Lindgren (internationally most famous for Pippi Longstocking) for her 1981 book "Ronia, the Robber's Daughter". No one before nor since could write about death and sorrow aimed at children the way Astrid did (especially "Mio, My Son").

And not least in the wonderful Bröderna Lejonhjärta (The Brothers Lionheart) about not only death but also suicide.

This is a lullaby if you didn't already know:) My mum used to sing this to me when I was very young. I still hum it to myself very often and Jonnas version is my favorite.
I highly recommend Jonnas video about the Swedish winters and polar nights/midnight sun if you haven't already seen it. It is not a music video so not reaction material, but I recommend you to watch it in your own time:) Absolutely stunning photography in that video.

This is a lullaby from the book "Ronja robbersdaughter" that they also made a movie and tv series of. Totally loved that book as a kid. And as usual, Jonna takes this song to the next level and makes it sound even more nordic 🐺

Jonna is like you, a pure soul. With so much empathy. I love her channel. She is my go to person when my body keeps me indoors and the depression is knocking at my door. Wolf Song and Spirit Song are on Spotify, so, if you like her music, put it on your playlist. Tommy don't feel bad when you can't answer all comments. Your channel is growing and we all know you have a live outside this channel. For me personally, it is good to see your face every morning ( and don't think for a minute you have to do a reaction every day) . To hear your voice and enjoy music together. I am not waiting to see if or when you are going to react to my comment. I can feel your commitment in every video you make. That is enough, you are enough. Have a great day.

I've just seen the film a few days ago (in german Tv) and Astrid Lindgrens books were such an important part of my childhood!
    Especially
    'Ronja Robbersdaughter' and 'Brothers Lionheart'.
The audio plays were listened nearly every day and many times I fell asleep with them at night.
I'm so grateful you did this wonderful version from Jonna🥰 It brightens my day today!
And I would like to meet you and just have a long and lovely conversation with you very much. But since it's unlikely we meet in real life I'm sending a firm and sincere hug this way!❤ You are a wonderful person!

Wolfes are some of the most beautiful creatures on earth. It's a shame they are always protrayed as the "bad guys" in old fairy tales. The atmosphere of this song was very captivating. I watched it in the morning, I will rewatch tonight to feel it even more. Thank you to the beautiful patron who recommended this.

very beautiful. very different from icelandic lullabies which are written to scare the shit out of the kids so they stay in bed with a blanket over the head to give adults space for adult time.
one exception is björk, vökuró. love this song.
but back to sweden, i think you might also love ionnalee, dunes of sand live in fivelstad.

@@TheWolffAndTheMelody what makes it even better is that my children are multi-racial and I'm a very big believer on learning your heritage. As I see things we are a species and it is important to learn about our past so we don't repeat those mistakes but also further their development.
Edit: my musical interests alone go all the way back to the ancient Sumerians

Thank you for reacting to this. Hearing this song brings me peace, and the videography is spectacular. She also has some incredible kulning videos that are not to be missed. Kulning is the traditional Swedish singing technique used to call livestock in or down from pastures, and the sound travels quite far.

If I remember right there was actually one or two wolves in Finland that killed and ate 22 children (Yes 22!) , so it's truly not a baseless song here in the Northern countries.

    • @TheThunander
      @TheThunander 10 місяців тому +1

It is also relevant that this was in 1881-1882 (well, sources differ some, but not after 1882), and thereafter no human has been killed by wolf in Finland, as far as I can find.
In Sweden the last time goes even further back, with the last attack in 1821 (except for the wolves in the zoo where one of the keepers was killed, but that is a special situation).
