There will never be another coach like Coach K--in terms of staying at one place for a very long time and the impact he left behind for hundreds of young men and the bigger impact on the school as a whole. He will definitely be missed, but we should always appreciate the memories he gave to the school and most of the nation in general.
That's a good point, the one at the last,,,,,he made great memories for basketball fans across this nation, whether you liked him or not, he and his teams were always(for the most part) in the NCAA Tournament and gave all that they had, with him as their leader, that's what made so many of those memories.....he only asked his players to give their best and to lead with their heart....it doesn't get any more simple than that! I’ve been a Tarheel fan since 1980. I went to my first game at Carmichael Auditorium against Duke at 6 years old. The vitriol in our rivalry is real. I learned to despise Duke basketball as a child. However I learned to respect Coach K and the program he built. Hell I even went to a Basketball camp run by Amaker. But I say this from the bottom of my heart, Coach K is a true legend and he made the rivalry I love legendary.
This Coach and his last team has meant the world to Carolina Basketball ! The Tar Heels felt and experienced Duke for 40 long minutes at Cameron and another 40 during the National Semi Final game. Defeating Duke in New Orleans and giving these guys a reason to absolutely cry their eyes balls out was a tremendous honor and a privilege that will never be forgotten .
you can thank the refs for that semifinal win and keeping mark williams out of the game for most of it in foul trouble, allowing unc to get all those rebounds and putbacks and stay in the game with our 7 foot 1 center out of the game.
coach k has 50 wins over unc and a winning record for his career over unc, you tarhole fans are just jealous because he got the better of you for his entire career
