When you weigh everything up that is a lot of yacht for the money. The cabins are a bit on the small size but then you only need them to sleep, the rest of the time your up top where there is loads of space. Definitely has some good layout options, as you said it is a bit like Marmite you either love it or hate it. Great tour Alex thank you.
I see on an owners blog these cats are not well built with cracks between bulkheads and the hull and water in the fibreglass, plus other Warranty issues. I like the design but it makes me reluctant to buy one.
You look a bit cramped sitting at the indoor helm Alex. Feels a bit muted. Upstairs helm, looks much more lively. I think its " horses for courses" or this boat will suit someone. A safe first time power boat for new owner only to own for use in the Mediterranean or Caribbean. She feels a practical safe but comfortable boat, plenty of storage in foredeck and engine spaces. Cockpit feels cramped but their more space on the flybridge helm dinning area with galley area, and the foredeck. The salon its wider than length which has a galley, to me a cramped seating area that's just me. But open the foredeck front and cockpit door that opens up the space. Cabins in port hull fairly decent space with storage but they share a heads. The starboard helm the cabin is the master with large heads. So she could take 6 people. Interesting boat but not for me, but I'm glad you reviewed her..
Even if that had the 2 cabins on the other side, I don't think that, would make a great charter boat. Maybe a bare bones charter by a husband and wife, but if you open it up to 6 guests, you have a bathroom that needs to be shared with the crew, plus the tender situation on board isn't great, so you'd have to tow a larger boat, then in turns of what you are goimg to do once on board because you need a Sea-Bob or 2, stand up paddle boards, maybe the bigger boat goes fishing and with 6 people you need lots of food and you don't have the space for that. The beauty of a bare bones charter is that it is cheap, but the initial start up costs formthe boat, the other boat, toys and gear plus food, you are looking at 30k per charter which is 5k per person, or 10k per couple not including flight znd if you manage to get 6 charters ler year, if you're lucky, then that's 180k minus your expenses and you are still losing money after you calculate fuel costs, added cost for food in the islands, bait, gas for chase boat. There you got insurancee, port fees, marketing fees, and licenses. You need to charge $50k per week to make even. Leopard needs to lower the prices of their boats or give discounts to people chartering the yacht.
