I don’t think it’s fair that u have to have a iPhone 15 to get this!!! This is a slap in the face for all iPhone supporters that’s been loyal for YEARS.
I’ve had this argument many times… If Apple turned on Apple Intelligence on your older phone and it made your phone slow and unusable because of the amount of processing power needed against the hardware of your phone, you would probably complain that Apple bricked your phone. “Engineered Obsolescence”. Apple chooses not to turn it on for older phones, so as not to overload them with processing needs and create problems, and you complain that Apple is holding back new features. “Engineered Obsolescence”. Old hardware is going to be a barrier to new features. That’s just how tech works.

@@acesman111seeing the hardware requirements killed my hype for iOS 18. What’s left for everyone else is half an update containing features that should have been here years ago. The one genuinely new thing they bring is limited to two phones. So those Neural Engines that they’ve been putting in the iPhone for years, basically useless now that AI shows up when the whole point of the Neural Engine was to run AI. Other phones and email clients have been doing some/all/similar features years ago. And that with several year old Tensor chips and older. Stuff like notifications, circle to search, autocorrect, magic eraser, sorting email and probably other features don’t need AI on the level of Apple Intelligence, because like I said, Android’s been doing it for years now. They also have the option of just pushing more functions to the cloud (trillion dollar company, shouldn’t be too expensive for them). Interestingly, I was able to enable Apple Intelligence on macOS even in the EU, just by changing my Mac's region to the US and setting the language to English.
