400 Cadillacs Deep!! The Dan Morehouse Cadillac Collection
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 лип 2020
- Dan bought his first few 1959 Cadillacs back in college and he hasnt really stopped since! Dan has owned well over 400 Cadillacs and currently owns 30. Dan has allowed us to come take a look at this collection of rare Cadillacs and stash of some amazing parts. The majority of the cars Dan has owned fall between 1957 and 1964, but Dan mainly has his eyes set on the huge iconic tail fins of the 1959 Cadillac. As you can see from walking around Dan's property and garages the 1959 Caddy is his favorite year and he has owned every body style available that year. Dan also owns a few 1957 Cadillac Broughams which were a coach built 57 that were built in very limit quantities. One of the coolest things that really caught our eye at Dan's is the 1959 Fleetwood that is submerged in his koi pond in the middle of his property. What else would a true Cadillac collector have for a water feature!!!

The best thing about this collection was hearing that these beauties are driven and not just garage or trailer queens...
It’s always refreshing when the cars get driven and enjoyed!!!!
Agreed!
It is really a good thing to see someone like Dan that is so happy with his life, family and passion. Some may call him obsessed but that would be so wrong because they can’t imagine how someone could be so content. As far as I can see there is a lesson to be learned. Thanks Matt, FANTASTIC video!!!
That is what we wanted to get across in this video. This hobby is about enjoying it the way YOU want to enjoy it. For Dan, finding, collecting and enjoying cars with his family is what makes him happy. Trophy hunting and all that is not. If you’re happy with life you’re winning as far as we’re concerned!
Well said!
@@IronTrapGarage hello I know if been a year but what happened to all these Cadillac
The world needs more people like him. What a cool guy. Thank you Matt for the intro.
We thought so too!
@@IronTrapGarage very cool DAD indeed, I envy his kids. Hope they like Cadillacs
I’m jealous !!!!! And I thought I was addicted to Cadillacs! 😂
Me: Alright, just a bunch of old junk cars rusting outside-
Garage rolls open:
Me: Screams in Cadillac
An exciting thing to see on my screen. 1959's had the wildest styling. Last time I saw one at a car show, I could barely drag myself away from it. Thanks for uploading. Magic to see !!
The 59 Caddy has some of the best styling of it's era. Probably why its so iconic!
finally nice to see a hoarder who isn't attached!
Dan has got to be the coolest guy i've ever heard of . Anyone who has a lot full of classic Cadillacs and can say one of his favorites is in a swamp to its beltline 😎
Dan really is a neat guy. We enjoyed our time there visiting his little slice of heaven!
Thanks! We sit by the pond more than we sit in a done car, thats for sure
His love for those cars is apparent in the single fact that his kids ALSO love old cars.
Holy WOW, thank you for introducing Dan! I love Cadillac's especially the 1959. What a great guy he is. Just awesome. Hope he sells some of those parts, he needs the room. Thanks again Matt, great share.
Thanks Dan!
He would sell some to me if I wasn't married.
finally, someone who has the "disease" more than Matt!
Haha there’s many levels of this “trap” we’re all in!
@@IronTrapGarage nice Cadillacs
Cars, houses, lives, I like seeing things get restored, it's a beautiful thing.
awesome vid! could sit and chat with dan all day, great dude, great family
OMGosh Matt, my favorite episode ever! I was a '59 Caddie fanatic. Bought my first one as a 15 year old. A totally loaded Fleetwood. I rode my bike past it and the old man selling it would sho me away until I finally convinced him to sell it to me for $75. He wouldn't let me drive it so he drove to to my house and parked it in our garage and I could never get it to start again! He had some type of secret kill switch on it. I completely cleaned and detailed the interior which had been preserved by 16 years of tar and nicotine. Sold it for $250 to a guy who needed an interior. That began the journey...
That’s awesome!!! He knew the secret handshake to get the thing started!!
@@IronTrapGarage get back with Dan morehouse and do updates on the restoration of his wife's 49 Cadillac convertible I want to see videos on the restoration
Wooa, friggin incredible. Next time someone says I need to get rid of some of my stuff, I'm gonna show them that video. Really enjoyed that one guys. Thank You!
I’ve been justification for a lot of guys!
Hard to express the... the... AWSOMENOSITY of this!! What a great addition to your picking trip!
It was an amazing collection. Glad Dan let us film!!
Rule number 1. The guy with the most cool cars wins!!!. GO!!............I already lost.
Brother I must say that you are one awesome Cadillac collector much love to you and your family
This guy has got to be the absolute coolest dad/ grandpa to have have ever graced this planet. Holy crap!
Dan is a really cool guy! Thanks for watching!!!
I’m not close to being a Grandpa yet! Haha. Oldest will be a freshman in college @bushnelluniversity this fall
He is an amazing dad! And a pretty good basketball coach too!
@@danmorehouse3269 I saw the play area in the backyard and that's where my brain went. My apologies!
Dan is in fact an awesome guy, I drove from LA to his home in Oregon just for a 59 Coup deVille seat. My wife saw his collection of finished cars in the garage and from that moment on she understood my passion and my vision bcz all the cars I owned were rusty and needed restoring so she couldn't picture why I was wasting so much time and energy on these old cars until she saw Big Fin Dan's collection.
That’s awesome!
I remember you and your family visiting. Hope to see you again some time!
Hi I enjoyed watching your passion and disease I have it too .
This was great, so good to see someone with a plan for all his parts and cars so they’re not just going to rot away.
Nice work on camera and sound too, these films are getting very professional in quality.
We have been trying to up the quality as we go! We are just two amateurs trying our best!!!
IronTrap Garage I’ve seen a lot of amateur film over the years, this really isn’t.
In fact I shared it on Facebook earlier, hopefully it’ll get you guys a few more views and subs.
Great to see someone else who loves and collects Classic Cadillacs. Good tip on a person to get parts from too. Thanks for posting.
Dan is a great guy I bought several parts form him few years ago for my 61 convert thanks Dan & iron trap Danny.
We ALL need the collectors that save the old stuff...!
Exactly. Think about the 400 cars he has saved over the years!!!
What a fantastic collection of 59 Cadillac's! I just love those monsters.
That’s just amazing!!! In an crazy and insane sort of way but wow. Nice addiction
Love the pond with the caddy in it how awesome
Dan , you all are spectacular !!!!!
Thanks for showing us this incredible family
Thanks!
@@danmorehouse3269 You are the man Brother !!!!
I love the coi pond. It has an air of both decadents and decay being overtaken by nature. There is something quintessentially American about your collection. I love it.
Thanks!
Dan the Fin. A true legend. Outrageously cool collection and visit, great job ITG.
Thanks for watching!
"So what about those tri-power and dual-quad set-ups?" Atta boy, Matt!
Matt controlled himself and left them! Let me know if you want one dan@bigfins.net
Great to see his place Dan sold me a 53 Caddy engine 20 years ago i am in australia so it was all on trust and he helped me out greatly
Wow..... This guys collection is awesome !!!
Thanks!
That's a paradise for Cadillac owners. Im from Brazil i have a caddy coupe deville and a 74 Challenger
This vid blew me away !!!! Amazing
Wow!!! That is not a mere collection it is a fabulous obsession! Thanks for sharing it.
That's why we had to film it! Dan's collection is amazing
DAN! Thanks For Sharing!
Famous Last Words, “These are just some random parts I haven’t put away”. I think he lost that battle a long time ago. 😂
Wow. Now that's a great yard.. 👍👍🇨🇱
The '59 Fleetwood in the pond is so well done. Very tasteful - all of it!
Well, except for the two-tone Seville. : )
One of the coolest guys on the planet, period.
Is it good to see a collector willing sell everything and not hoard stuff. You know how many places I've been and all you hear not for sale not for sale not for sale hats off to you Dan
Thanks Matt. The '59 Cadillac is a car you either love or hate. I never liked them from the day I first saw one. But it is all about the people. All of us car nuts have the same disease. There is a group of us that "used to" have Friday lunch. We all agreed, 'We have the disease, but we don't want the cure.' Thanks for sharing Dan's collection/business.
We also have the disease, and don’t want the cure!!! Thanks for watching!!!
He is my idol now !! I love the old Cadillacs 😁😁😁
I saw the ambulance stretcher leaning up in the shed and got excited, cause my dream '59 Cadillac is in fact an ambulance! Absolutely not turned into Ecto-1! I want one restored to original or a nice original one! Absolutely love the '57 Ambulance toward the end of the video! I dig the 59 in the coy pond!
My favourite is the hearse, the Harold and Maude car, not the jag. I was hoping to see one
My all time 2 dream cars are the 59 ambulance ecto and the 58 Plymouth Christine
Awesome story, thanks for this Matt and Dan!
A good key point - He is a focused go-getter! Buying/selling 59 Cadillacs at 19-22 yrs old & buying a house. Furthering his passion with a solid base. Cool cool documentary
That’s the best take away from this video!!
IronTrap Garage 🙏🏻 Ive great respect for your skills and dedication in life Matt. Really absorbing alot from your channel on many levels.
This is so crazy but the first video of caddillac I've seen of some real master pieces time machines rusted or painted very beautiful definitely worth the work to put into to get them where they should be I always wanted a 59 eldorado seville my dad always tells me wheir do I get this want for caddillac if we always had chevy pickups I just say caddillac is where its at but man you have such amazing cars any one of those r worth saving you are awesome I just love your collection they definitely dont make them like they used to you just have me at aaaaah I'm really speech less wow just wow
The Caddy pond and Airstream bunkhouse, and carfort are so cool! He definitely inherited the ‘sickness’ from his old man.
Yep it’s great!
Matt missed a hidden fort made with a couple flattop roofs - it was a good hidenseek spot
Now that was a cool video! Dan gets my vote for "Best Koi Pond EVER!" I also love the old Cadillacs but my favorite is grandpa's '57 Eldorado Biarritz convertible. It is silver and an entire heard of black cows gave their lives to finish the interior. I remember all 11 of us grandkids cruising with grandpa down to the Baskin & Robins, way good memories! When grandpa died in 2014 my uncle inherited the car...with just less then 20,000 original miles.
That car sounds amazing! Glad it stayed in the family
Wow. Overwhelmed just watching
So many amazing parts in every corner!!!
@@IronTrapGarage im dying over here. Lol. I just got a 1935 pontiac series 605 slant back sedan. Straight 8 is too much to rebuild. So shes getting a 1962 Cadillac 390 out of a hearse! How I would love a tripower!!!
Now I know why it so hard to find a ‘59 Cadillac, this guy bought them all.
He has cornered the market!!!
It’s sad ,too selfish
@@quintincooper7865 right
Wow Thanks Matt for my Muggy Sunday morning fix, sitting on the back porch with my coffee and marveling at the collection. You just can’t beat Motörhead’s nicest people everywhere in the world
This hobby is the best!
Dan great collection! You really should restore that Biarritz and your wife's convertible! Fantastic video and thanks for sharing!
I just need to save some more money.... or sell parts and a few cars;)
Mindblowing! Thanks Dan and Matt for sharing this. I just got one step closer to being a Cadillac fan.
Just drive any 59-64.... you’ll be hooked
Grounded .... talking about the Caddys ... Dan Daddy O knows it is the relationships that matter. Rust never sleeps unlike Relationships that roll on forever. Nice video Matt ... and you nailed it with the music!. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!!!!
I love the green one so much its my favorite color AND A CONVERTIBLE what more to like
Pine Herst Green convertible is absolutely beautiful . Don't blame you for keeping it.
" Fall on my family roots" Well said.
Well done interview and he seems like a great guy. I will need parts soon! Thank you!
I always wanted a 1960 Cadillac Hearse!
i delivered packages in Pinehurst, and my van was UPS brown..loved the passion of this guy...great video
I didn't see any mechanics working on any of the cars, is it just you and your family doing all the work? Seems like an amazing guy to know and an amazing place to grow up. It's the type of place were someone could easily volunteer a lifetime's worth of work just for the knowledge and experience you would get from being around a place like this.
It’s just my backyard.... nothing more than that. No mechanic... and I would never claim to be a mechanic! Thanks for the compliment!
Those Caddies are beautiful, I love the family link with the boys continuing! Thanks for sharing Matt!
We hope the boys continue on with the Caddy obsession!!!
That's just way cool. Very cool guy! Good family man and passionate about preserving vintage Caddy's. Thanks Matt for sharing! RW
Thanks for watching!!
He seems a normal guy at the beginning of the vid. But soon the scale and depth of his madness becomes clear.
Hahaha he pulls back the curtains and let's you see the madness
Awesome madness
Yes I really like this guy his style is cool love the pond and the caddies 🚙
BIG SMILES ! Thanks Matt! ...Newk from Kentucky
In the early 80s you could still buy running, driving `59s cheap. In 1983 I went to see one that the seller was asking $750 for (I even talked him down to $650). But my parents said I could only have it if our mechanic checked it over first and approved of it. But he didn't like a couple things on it, so my parents wouldn't let me have it. It was a flat top, and a light gray color. I wish I had taken a picture!
Matt , what a passion Dan has.
Just wow!
I "LOVE" Your set-up, my Dad had 2-59,s while I was growing up. I drooled just watching your video. I would love to visit. Unfortunately,my wife has no sense of humor for these things. I've been building one of these for over 20 years. Not realizing the price of parts. My woman only complains. Hope to finish some day. Love your shop. Thanks for the video. AWESOME
Thanks! Come by if you get a chance
@@danmorehouse3269 what state are you in
I’m in Oregon. Right off of I-5
One of the coolest shows yet. I know those Caddies are great cars , back in the ‘60s my father had a ‘56 convertible black on black mint condition, it was awesome. Good feature.
Glad you enjoyed it!! Thanks for watching!!
Fabulous Cadillac collection! It was great to see all the Cadillacs that he is preserving and that his family will carry on for the next generation. Thanks for the tour!
It’s always great to see the next generation taking up the family hobby! Hopefully Dan’s children pass it along to their future children
Wow, just wow! So many gorgeous cars!!!!
Agreed!!!
Awesome caddies, great video Matt. I enjoy seeing people passion about old cars. He definitely has a passion for caddies. Thanks Matt for sharing this awesome video👍. Stay safe😀.
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful caddy collection
Super cool love only cadillacs hope to visit and make a purchase
CADILLACS PARADISE !!!
stuff like this helps me remind myself why life is great
This hobby has so many great collections and personalities we love to highlight the ones we come across. Dan and his families little slice of heaven was a joy to visit for a few days!
That is what Matt has to look forward to in years to come !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You ain’t kidding!!!
Enjoyed this video. Thank you for posting. Never seen so many Cadillacs Hoping to meet Dan sometime. Ron in Madras Oregon
Dans a great guy!!!
Very nice bro 😀❤️
I love that green convertible. Gorgeous!😎
Probably one of the best videos I've seen in quite a while! Talk about living your life on your own terms and enjoying every minute of it! I wish him continued happiness and success!
Dan is a great guy! His energy and love for Cadillacs is infectious
Thanks!
If his budget allows it, he should restore them all and open a private caddie showroom with all of these there, it would make great sales.
That is too cool. Thank you Matt for taking us to something much better than Disney World. I could spend days here.
To cars guys this is Disney World!!!
Cool tour! Love the music, too!
Awesome video! I really appreciate his passion for these classics and his efforts to keep them alive.
Couldn't agree more!
WoW I love your videos 🙂 Love the old stuff. Keep it up Matt .
What a collection thanks for showing us
Such a cool collection ......i love that garden!! It's a huge inspiration for me, as i'm redoing the family garden right now 😁
Buy a classic car and stick it in your pond!!
@@IronTrapGarage i could take one from my Garage and make a bigger pond, ore buy a Nash Metropolitan 🤣
"Wow" that's a collection. Nice 👍
Wow, have to be the Cadillac king for sure. Great property and set up, nice guy too.
Caddy King!
Amazing collection, I bet you would like to spend more time on the West Coast! Your finds make all of us happy. Thanks for sharing! Kevin
We could have spent a few weeks out there
I think this guy likes Cadillacs.
Love the Starfire!!
Nice. Cadillac candy everywhere. What a great visit. Love his space ..
If you carport the front of Iron Trap Garage .. .. go a lot higher, & slope the roof away from the garage. The shaded breezes are like no other. Plus keeping the front wall of the garage shaded .. dramatically lowers the inside garage temperature.
we need carport and that pole barn! 2 hot rods to one of those caddys!!
Very cool collection. Keep them on the road!
