Beautiful! I’m old af now & have been a YZ guy since my 1st 78 YZ80, then started racing on my 82 YZ80J’s. Had a CR250 for several years but always Yamaha faithful, down to my sleds other than my Polaris Storm. Been shopping for a new bike last couple of yrs & finally bought a 22 RM-Z450. 1st Suzuki & 1st 4 Stroke. The YZ is more bike than I can handle these days & so is the RM, but I still wanted the power there for hill climbs, sand dunes & the occasional irresponsible gap jumps. 😂🙏🏼😇 Keep on keepin’ on!! As long as we keep riding, we’re not dead.

Greasing those bearings you should pack them, putting grease just on the surface won’t do much put a bill of grease in your hand take the bearing and kind of cut slices of the grease with it and it will pack the grease into the bearing
Looking sweet! I need to make sure my 125 is tip top for a blu cru day! Tech tip for greasing the front end. Leave the forks in the bottom triple and lower it all together. If the front axle doesn't need grease you can even leave the front wheel on!
The steering stem nut needs to be tightened before camping the forks in the upper triple clamp. I had a steering stem nut that kept coming loose and this is what I traced it back to. Enjoy your new ride!

No reason? I took it apart to change the bars and make sure things were greased enough. That’s not “no reason.” I’m glad you got a bike and had fun but just because you approach it differently than me doesn’t mean either of us did it wrong.
Throttle tubes are usually specific to bike brand. I’m sure if you hit up Pro Taper they have one for YZf’s. Congrats on the bike. Thing looks so good.

with the airbox cover put your fingers on the inside and push out on both side, pretty much blows off in the wind at that point. i fought with the thing for a bit before figuring out i understood the manual wrong

U don't need an hour meter the engine hours are in the Yamaha tuner app . Def don't run a different diameter throttle tube . It will change how quickly the throttle body opens and you don't want these things taking off too quick . Done 2hrs mine so far so good . Been the best backwards engine Yamaha generation so far

Yessir! It snowed Monday but melted quickly. We’re expecting snow next week, but up to 40 degrees Friday and Saturday. And great ski resorts about 2.5 hours away!

How low was the trade offer on the Honda? Looking at an identical trade for the ‘23 Yami and really don’t want to go through the hassle of listing it …
Most shops use the NADA value of a bike, so google NADA and you can check your bike and get a ballpark of what they'll offer. They were going to do $3600 for the Honda.
Looks trick man! Just as a suggestion I think I'd just file that brake lever down some or use a grinder to thin it up in order to fit in that slot and same with throttle maybe if it's possible on that im not sure but yep just imo and it save ya some money!!
Interesting you do so many changes bofore you even ride it for at least 10 hours. How do you know what chemges you want in the shims in the forks? Iam superhappy with mine 21. Little soft in front but valving is spot on
Because I trust my suspension guy and if I rode it for 10 hours then put in gold valves and springs rates I’d just have to ride another ten hours for any shim stack changes. Instead I can get the gold valves and springs right away, ride for ten hours and then make any changes internally. No need to ride stock for ten hours when I’m not keeping stock valving or springs.

Just go up 1 spring 1 rate (so i got the rate in the middle)and I was good on my 21. Its your bike i was just wondering your thought process. I bought Ohlins insert to mine and I ended up changing back to stoch , witch was way better IMO.Strange to change something without knowing what to change.
