Never a truer word; I was genuinely overwhelmed when I visited Topkapi. A very unexpected feeling. I didn't want to do anything else but return to the palace and just sit amongst the holy relics. Like the Sh. said, we don't worship but there was certainly an otherly feeling in the room. SubhanAllah.
One of the primary issues I have with Islam. Music is what I do. I produce mostly instrumental music - no harmful lyrics. Not all music is destructive. It has been proven that some forms of music are actually healing. This seems to me like throwing out the baby with the bathwater.
Don't let this dissuade you. Some Muslim scholars throughout history were very lenient with the music issue. When Andalusia was ruled by Muslim, music was everywhere, and supported by Muslim scholars. Sh. Ahmad Tijani (a great Sufi scholar of the 1700s) had a disciple who played an instrument, that he would call to come to the zawiyah and play when he felt it would lift people's moods. Sidi Muwaq al-Abdari used to teach alcoholics musical instruments in order to get them away from alcohol. Find out what Imam Suhaib Webb has to say about music. He's on youtube and social media.
That's not something that makes u non Muslim or a bad Muslim, music has effect on the psychic of the person and it's not the lyrics it's the instruments, it's mostly related to the unseen world, so u know in Islam we believe there are Jin's, the thing is music instruments makes them strong, and when they are strong they can harm u or their whispers _ what most think it's their thoughts _ to make u make bad decisions will become stronger, _we believe that every human being is born with a Jin "that's called qarin who whispers to u to do wrong things' and angels , one of them keep telling u to do good things, angels too hate music_instruments_ .... And that way you can't really feel the Quran or be so focused in your prater _ that's from experience_ ... but listening to music doesn't make u a bad person, it makes you more exposed to bad energy

You need Islam. Islam doesn’t need you
Healing for humans is in the Quran not music. Never forget we need Islam it doesn’t need us

He's saying that constant non-reflective immersion in music is a disease, not that music is prohibited.
